Why choose Razorbacks over Rhino's in the GK army?
It seems with the psychic powers and repair feature, that the Rhino would be much more effective.

Is there something I'm missing?

Rhinos can always move every turn with extra armor.
Razors can shoot every turn in GK armies as a special ability.

Also Razors are generally preferred over rhinos overall.

As for whether or not Rhinos vs Razors are best in GK, I can't say.

I see.
Yea, its tough. I have a bunch of cash for my Grey knights pre order, and don't know what vehicles to Order.

Should I even buy Landraiders and Stormravens?

no matter what order the Razors; $2 more(USD) than a Rhino, but you get the razorback sprue as well as the full Rhino.

I generally Stick to Crusaders for Land Raiders(W/MM and pintle Storm bolter); If you get a Crusader Do not give it Psybolt ammo; The Value of the Crusader is move-and-fire capacity(limit 6") and model capacity.

Redeemers suffer from Range limitations on the Flamestorm, and an inability to fire all weapons(like ever); you can move and fire the Assault cannon and a flamestorm, or both Flamestorms but never all 3.

God-Hammers are a nice Mid-ground Early game they can fire 2 t-l lascannons either while Stationary or with a slow advance, then can send a T-L lascannon shot at enemy armor while firing the heavy bolter at a target you plan to chage with is contents. Storm bolters are not entirely wasted on a god-hammer, nor is psybolt ammo; just never both upgrades at the same time.

Storm Ravens are similar and you can use them as a flying Crusader(Hurricanes, Assault Cannons, T-L MM or Typhoon launcher) the Typhoon comes a little closer to dedicated Anti-infantry(not quite as much as with the std Heavy bolters though). lascannons and multimeltas make it a dedicated Anti-tank platform.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

Razorbacks are good for adding some Mech to a GK list(something they have lacked in the past)

the Razorback adds a heavy weapon to the arsenel and with the different upgrades it can get it can be quite deadly. Assault Cannon with Psybolts FTW or a lascannon for some Long ranged anti-tank that GKs have a shortage of.

GK vehicles in general, because of the Ignore Stunned/Shaken power, can't really be made useless aside from outright destroying the tank. many armies often rely on just stunning an enemy vehicle to make it's impact minimal and it is effective against most armies.

Hmmm, that's good.
I guess my issue is... which vehicles do I go with? :S
Razorbacks for sure, but do I roll with 2 Raiders? 2 Ravens? 1 of each?

I think it is going to depend on what is inside of those transports and what they are needing to do. I suppose it would also matter if you needed to transport dreads.

Do you have any ideas on what might be going into the list as far as infantry goes?

Cheers,

best suggestion is to learn to magnitize your vehicles. Use magnets on every upgrade, that way you can make your rhino a razorback. extra sprews are not to bad on ebay if you want to give your landraidr options on what brand it is.

It REALLY depends on your HQ. Do you want doctor crowe? Do you want Draigo? do you want stealth ninja temrinators with psyker who can cast warp rift and then the sumoning turn 1 (sumoning a land raider)?

if you run Stormravens, you really should run 3.

they are more fragile then other vehicles so you need to have extras.

I'll be honest, I have no clue what's going in them yet. I have not yet seen a copy of the codex. I've just loved the models forever, and recently decided to make the switch to a Marine Army. I just hope their fluff isn't destroyed by Kelly.

I pretty much already planned on magnetizing as much as I can. I want this to be my one and only army now. No matter how OP or Gimped they turn out to be. As I've learned from Dash over the past few months while forum trolling him, a good player will always beat a good army. So yea, I want this army forever. Magnetizing just seems like the best option.

Again, I have no clue. I had the play test copy, but Crowe looked good in it to me. Now I'm reading that he sucks? I really wish I could get my hands on the leaked one so I could know what to buy

Darn, that makes it even more important to know what I want. I def can't afford 3 of each And I figure LR's should be run in multiples as well if you're running them. Again, I don't know. This is my first MEQ.

The good Doctor Crowe is very good, but he is not an independent character. While he is good in close combat, he will die to shooting.

In DE you use the HQ's to suport your amy list. In GK you use your HQ to unlock your army.

Crowe make purifiers(?) troops. They are good, 2 attacks base, and they can get 2 weaponds per 5, witch is good. They also have an amasing psycic power, they are insane.

If you go that way you get no deep striking shenegans.

In short you can do Doctor Crowe, Mordrak and librarian sumoning, draigo (paladins), and you can go all kinds of inqusistors and even a grand master who makes megaman look bad. :-) But all of them gives efects for your army.

Dont worry about that. Mat Ward wrote the GK codex.
