I'm thinking about starting a Grey Knights army and am interested in making it clear that my Dreadnoughts aren't just the standard fare. Therefore, I'm considering using the GW Venerable Dreadnought model, since I think it looks a lot more "Grey Knights" than the basic or Black Reach Dreadnought. Would you guys be fine with this model being used to represent a regular instead of Venerable Dreadnought, as long as it was clearly explained beforehand? I don't want to cause any confusion, but I think the regular Dread is a little too bland for the Grey Knights and would greatly prefer to prefer the awesome plastic Vendread.

Dont GKs have Ven dreads already? In anycase as long as you dont have a mix of rules in your army (i.e both the Ven dread and normal dreads) then people shouldnt have a problem with it.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Yeah, there would only be regular Dreadnoughts, so things would be internally consistent. If I wanted to field Grey Knight Vendreads, I would use this guy.

As long as you make your vendreads yet shiner, no one has any right to complain.

I would be more than okay with it. Venerable dreadnoughts have the GK feel about them to boot, and I've been reccomending them as alternatives to the FW models as GK 'noughts for a bit now. Just do yourself a favor, try and see if you can wait and use the GK heads in the venerable nought to add that little bit extra

It would work
But I'd use them as venerable as dreads are heavy support from what I cam see

I really can't see any reason ANYONE would complain as long as you mention it before the game.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Agreed, so long as the weapons are WYSIWYG and you warn your opponents beforehand, i can't see anyone having a problem.

As long as regular dreadnoughts aren't mixed in there, I don't think anybody will have a problem with it.
