I would reccomend being a little more diverse on the Crisis suits. I've always done well with the Plasma/Missile Pod/Multi-tracker combo.

What are you going to be fighting?

At these points, I don't think that would be necessary...

I like your list. I would play it myself. The only thing I might do is give your Dethrains some flamers instead of TAs, and then using those points to give your devilfish more...

Though, 2 devilfish is a huge points sink, especially at 750 pts...

I'm gonna go with mega-bassist on this, TB, only with FireStorms instead of FKs. woodbok, low point games are tau's opportunity to swamp the enemy with more fire power than they can return and the FireStorm is the tool to do it. At 1k and higher, the old codex is overtaken with speedier armies, but tau can dominate, even on a 4x4 table, with Crisis maneuverability and 5 dice per suit. Deathrains aren't going to do enough, especially since the support is two dumbfish and the 2 FoF that comes with them.

My First question is, how big of a board is the battle going to be on, I'm assuming a 4x4.

Second question: I am correct in assuming that your 3 non-commander suits will all be independant units?

I have to agree withe Mega-bassist on this as well. Redudndancy is good, but diversification is just as important.

The one problem I see is the lake AP3 or better weaponry, Railhead not withstanding. Fire-knives, while incredibly overused, are also incredibly utilitarian.

The great thing about Tau is that in smaller points games, we can cram an insane amount of Firepower onto the table compared to most of our opponents. The key is making sure to have both redundancy and diversity.

For instance having one suit with a TL PR, a FB, and a MT is death incarnate for any MEQs/TEQs, if a little short ranged.

With 4 suits in your current army, 2 Fire-knives would be useful and effective. With the other two you can get some diversification. A TL MP and FB on one, and TL FL and Burst Cannon on the other.

These are merely of examples of some of the diversification you can do, but don't overlook them either. The TL FL especially is quite potent, especially against hordes. The can do a number on MEQs just because of the number of wounds you can inflict with them, forcing your opponent to make more armor saves.

Just some food for thought.

Good luck in your battle for the Greater Good!

Here is an example of redundant and diversified suits:

Crisis Team Alpha:

Team Leader w/TL MP, PR, hwMT
Shas'Ui w/ PR, MP, MT

Crisis Team Bravo:

Team Leader w/TL MP, FB, hwMT
Shas'Ui w/MP, FB, MT

Crisis Team Charlie:

Team Leader w/TL PR, FB, hwMT
Shas'Ui w/PR, FB, MT

These six come in at just under 400 points, which is a bit much for a 750pt game, but you could drop a suit or two to get some points back, or you can tweak the configuration to better match what you would prefer.
