I've always found this story one of the saddest in the Horus Heresy. A man tried to help his father and then had everything destroyed in front of him.
What happened to him after the heresy?
Is he now half daemon-half man?
Where is he?
What's his legion up to?

He and his legion are now on the planet of sorcerors in the EoT.
He is pretty much a daemon primarch.
He and his legion habitually plan to destroy Fenris and the Space Wolves, so far they haven't really got very far.
I also think it's one of the most tragic stories in the heresy...

Ahriman is also trying to find a way into the black library in order to defeat Tzeentch, or at least break his hold over them.

But Tzeentche planned that event out, knowing it would make controlling them easier, both Ahriman and Magnus want to be realeased from Tzeenrch's control even though they hate each other.

In the short term....

Spoiler:
After becoming a daemon prince he spent the best part of 1000 years carefully plotting his revenge against the Space Wolves ( as we call them) and then launched an invasion of Fenris. It's a kick ass story that, frankly, every 40k fan needs to read.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

The Crimson King will return, he is the last Primarch which may yet have love for his father. He was always supposed to be the one on the Golden Throne, the greatest Psyker born of the Emperor.

He made a monumental error of arrogance when he thought he could manipulate the ancient powers of the warp.

IMO I don't see him as Chaos, or a devotee in the same way as the others. It would be great if he could cure the curse of the Wulfen and heal the wounds of the 1k Sons and SW. All the other Legions are beyond Redemption, but there is still hope for them.

When I collect a Pre-Heresy 30K Army it will be 1K Sons, using the FW Marines Maxini Khomtech Weapons and Scribors Egyptian parts. They will be a Labour of Love, in homage to a wonderful and tragic saga.

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

I think you're right on the chaos devotee thing. Once he's out of Tzeentch's power he might come back.

in a thousand sons there is prophecy about "ravens of blood" and redemption "for things that should never come to pass" If i recall correctly so im guessing ahriman and blood ravens would be a great team up xD and also great to see a legion come back to the emperor also ahriman is constanly working towards his goal of making the TS pure in the eyes of the emperor

The 1k Sons are Renegades not devotees of Chaos, I think i can reconcile that. I just feel an affinity with the organisation of the Legion, the Corvidae and the Scarabs. The Spireguard and the different elements of Psykers working in unison, the stunning Eqyptian references. The images of Vladmir Constantin and the Great Wolf destroying Prospero and the Art Work in the Heresy Artwork book. It is such an epic story of mis-understanding and mis-placed belief and loyalty. The bond of brotherhood dashed against reason and "Wyrdmake" that treacherous character. The great Council of Nikkae, the way the Librarians speak to the emperor.

It is one of the best crafted and engaging stories, because of the lack of a clear black and white moral ethic. Unlike all the other Legions which quite clearly turn their back on things, personally I hated Fulgrim and his imperfect quest for perfection he was fundamentally flawed by trying to achieve perfection.

Those poor little sons of Magnus in their suits of armour. Anyway Mr.OP, if you want to learn more about the 40k universe, i suggest you try Lexicanum.com. It offers fairly accurate information on many aspects of the 40k universe. I say again, Fairly.
