So from what my boys are saying, the Tau are rumored to get a new codex by the end of the year. It would be nice to not pay 12 points per Fire Warrior when other armies boast stronger units for a third of that cost and all my guys can do is shoot far unless something shoots further. Plus some more wargear I think would be cool plus a new alien race is said to be coming to the front, excellent. What have you heard about the "Greater Good" becoming greater and, well...good-er for the sake of argument?

This has been covered in a few other threads. Consensus is that we will NOT see Tau this year. Next are Necrons and after that there may not be enough time for another codex release.

June : DE 2nd Wave
July : Fantasy or LotR
August : Summer of fliers?
September : Fantasy or LotR
October : Necrons?
November : Fantasy or LotR
December : Nothing as usual

These are in no way official but it's what I have concluded from all the rumours I have gathered. Been 100% correct so far. There is a rumour about Ogre Kingdoms getting a release this year and maybe a Fantasy Apocalypse type book.

As for 40k the release schedule should be something like this : GK, Necrons, Sisters of Battle, Tau.
So you can expect Tau to be the second army released next year. So summer 2012 for Tau at the earliest.

There is a rumour about Tau getting 2 plastic kits this autumn though, Vespids and Pathfinders. This rumour doesn't really make sense without a new codex release though as the rules for them will still be out dated.

Also 12pt for a S5 gun is pretty cheap imo but that's just me.

I hope not, I have just ordered a load of tau of wayland games, I would've waited if I knew.

Oh and the last thing tau needs is to be morecheesed.

You should be ok, GW don't appear to be updating existing plastic kits at the moment (DE aside). Their focus is on new stuff and replacing metal minis.

ive heard crisis suits will get a redesign things ive heard sergest a more rounded appearance then boxes but not sure if they will be plastic or metal but they will be sold in units of 3

And they get a cool new Xeno race and a sleek new Gundam suit ... oops, sorry, that was the Grey Knight Codex

And will cost > £30

Can't wait for the rumours about the "Organic Battlesuit" to pop up once again!

Gaming buddies, most of my boys are gaming buddies. If I am 23 and have 8 year old sons, I think I would really be giving in to an American stereotype, no dice for that ^^

Nope, they're 10. For 12 points they're either labeled as Pathfinders or Ethereal body guards.

No the codex I'm looking at they're 10, are you including an 'essential' upgrade or something?

10pts for 4+ AS and killing a GEQ on a 2+ isn't too bad, yeah I expect them to be a bit cheaper in the new book to keep in line with generally cheapening costs but still.......

What is a "zenos"?

The prevailing rumor is that Demiurg are in as a counter-assault unit. T4, strength 4 becomes 5 with their battleaxes, 5+ FnP, and S&P. The rumor for em is somewhere further down the rumor page.

PS it's xenos, not zenos.
