So CincyCon is in it's second year, and I managed to make it down for their 1850pt 40k tournament. It was a lot of fun and had three great games, but unfortunately my camera had issues and I lost a lot of the pics I took. So instead of one big battle report, I stuck a few of the uncorrupted files here in a three game conglomeration. The tourney was run by a few of the fine folks from Art of War in Cincinnati.

Game 1 was against Daemons of Chaos, the mission is below.

The preferred wave of daemons come down, who are all covered in black light reactive paint! These daemons were all painted up by the same person who did the terrain, which was excellent.

Basically most of the game consisted of me running away from big nasties, shooting the whole time. Sadly, even lashing Fateweaver away a lot of invulnerable saves were made, lol!

Khorne and Slaanesh went at it in this game, with the keeper of secrets finishing off a bloodletter squad, only to be charged the next turn and chopped to pieces himself.

One of my favorite moments of the game, when my defiler scattered his battle cannon back onto himself, causing an immobilized result!

We ended up tying this game, with only one daemon model left on the table! His keeper of secrets had one wound left that I just couldn't get rid of.

Scenario two was weird, because you had to get a unit wholly within a terrain piece to claim it, which I wasn't sure if I could even do with the defilers, as they were wider than a lot of the terrain!

Speaking of the terrain, this was all blacklight reactive as well, I think it would be great in a basement with the proper lighting hooked up. This is the first turn of the game as I am getting ready to get blasted by some beautiful mechanized guard vehicles.

A ballsy deepstrike by some terminators sees the executioner become a molten wreck.

By the end of the game I had managed to make it across the table, but I still can't seem to wreck vehicles in close combat very well with my defilers for some reason!

I just didn't have the ability to hang on in the end, and even though I messed my opponents army up pretty good, he was able to get a few squads into the terrain giving him the win. This army went on to win best painted, congrats!

Mission three was a fun one, three objectives with one being worth extra.

A really nice looking ork warband, I was VERY scared to see so many battle wagons with deffrollas on the field, and Ghazzy to boot!

Luckily he got a little bottlenecked and spread out, allowing my terminators to explode battlewagons outside of the KFF range. The problem with orks is that when you wreck their vehicles, they just get mad and chop you up!

Poor Ghazzy. I lashed a squad of orks around his battlewagon and into cover. They rolled a two, so the battlewagon couldn't get the warboss where he needed to go. In 5 turns, Ghazzy never made it into combat.

My last turn saw my lash orks all over the place, and then charge them to pull them off of the objectives. Here a defiler runs around to pull the orks off of one of the beta objectives.

In the end, I was able to win the game by using the princes to contest the alpha and one beta objective, while one squad of marines held the second beta objective. A very tough game that I had to out maneuver my opponent to win, as there was no way I could win a straight up fight!

All in all a great day, and I have to thank my opponents again as they voted me their favorite player, earning me the equivalent of the sportsmanship award.

I was wondering how your third game ended for you well played. Eric told me round two you guys had a tough game that it was actually pretty close. Lash is still so useful lol
