Very interesting.
And i agree with most of what your saying, i only recently went into Mechdar builds, before that it was either hybrid or entirely footdar.

I had a decent consistancy or victory with the footdar lists, as in i won by a consistent amount, i'm finding the Mechdar to be more hit and miss, resulting in a higher majority of close wins than previous experiances. Weight of fire is a serious plus and a staple of many lists i write.

Yeah, Mechdar this edition is more about not dying and taking objectives than actually killing the enemy. Footdar actually engages and fights the other army, which I like a lot more.
