So, I was looking over my army list and noticed that in the codex it says that you can have a storm bolter for x points, but it is also listed under wargear.

The way I am reading this suggests you get one free "hatch" non-pintle mounted storm bolter in the standard point cost.

Is this reading correct? Or you can add a pintle mounted one for x points equaling two total? Assuming that you do get one free SB, how does it fire? Is it only straight ahead or does the hatch rotate 360 degrees?

As always thanks.

eek sorry should have put this in "you make da call"

Ok cool.

So how does the "free" bolter fire? straight ahead or 360 degrees?

I'd say 360 degrees

I always thought it was covered by hull mounted weapons. As it states it is a hull mounted Storm Bolter meaning it has 45 degree arc.

That seems to make more sense. However I don't see any mention of it being hull mounted.

Stormbolters on Rhinos(and all other weapons on it, Razorbacks too) have a 360 arc as they are either pintle or turret mounted.

Hullmounted weapons are weapons like the Vindicator's Demolisher cannon or the Landraider's Assault cannon/heavy bolter.

Sponson mounted weapons have the arc that the sponson allows for the weapon to turn(landraiders can turn 180, lemun russ's only 45)

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.
