After trying to convert my deffkoptas into warbuggies, I discover I have actually made what looks more like warBIKERS than warBUGGIES. I think I might be forced to further modify them into biker nobs. I haven't any biker nobs now, despite them being such a popular selection. My intention with the buggies was to run them as covering units for a six-trukk/two-boss speedfreaks list. That list has been running pretty well. Three buggies with TL rokkits & RPJs runs about the same in terms of points as three biker nobs with one power klaw & one big choppa. Also, the biker nobs can block line of sight for my trukkboy mobs, and the nobs might be more survivable, what with their multiple wound allocation & self-generating cover-saves, than the buggies. The buggies do have better anti-armor/anti-transport possibilities at a distance. I don't know, I might bring both once I figure out how to model buggies correctly: that is, cheaply.
Anyway, my question: how and should you run small groups of biker nobs? I want to run them without painboys, and in groups no larger than four, with three being preferable, so as to keep costs down. Right now I don't' intend on bringing a biker BOSS; my bosses are riding in trukks, but that's another story.

They could be someking of assasin or counter attack unit but remember that they are wery weak without painboy and they are going to be shot at, lot!

Sure sure. I assume they'll be shot at a lot, just like my buggies. Is it wrong to think they'll have similar utility?

3 Nob bikers without a painboy are still 6 T4(5) wounds with a 4+ cover save.
Low Str weapons might not do much but anything S6-7 is going to bring them down quickly, S8+ even faster.
But... thats at least some shots that arn't going at you mass of trukks!
If they are ignored they'd proberly be able to take any small unit, or lone vehicle that moved 6" or less.
I prefer units of about 5-6, with toys, as they are somewhat durable but not "too many" points. Anything smaller can be taken down too easily for my liking.

Id say test the waters and see what fits you better. I try to get the rokkit buggies under a KFF to make them even more of a pain in the ass. But really thinking on it, I could see some nob bikers doing well too. Obviously its a bit situational so give it a try

You know, if you can't put red paint on bikernobs (and you can't), is it worth wild doing so for trukks? I can see myself saving between twenty-five & forty points leaving off the RPJ. Hum.....
