I am debating about a new army, I want to do a SM army, but I cannot decide which. I think I have it narrowed it down to Chaos or Black Templars. I've been looking at both of them but i just wanted to know what the Dakka communities thoughts on both were.

Go figure, I prefer the almighty BT. With the newest errata (thanks, GW!) we're almost competitive with other armies out there. There's a few things that get in our way, but it's still nice to be 'back in it', in a way. I guess it really boils down to your personal tastes/the local area. If there's an abundance of one of the armies, I personally go with the other--but that's just me.

you know if you swap the word Emperor with 'KHORNE' and Psyker with 'EVERYONE' Codex: BT actually becomes Codex:World Eaters.

Least thats what I did and it made so much sense no body even called me on it at my local GW

I personally would go with Chao, it is a more forgiving Army for someone new to a space marine army, in addition it still has some very competitive builts. But if all else fails, go with what feels right, You have to enjoy the army in order to enjoy playing it.

Go for the templars man, they're a really fun to play, you won't regret it
