The Wolf Lords move up the center with the Fenrisians as a heavy hitter, while the TWC go for a pincer move or flank attacks. The Long Fangs bust metal boxes and the RBacks sit at home plinking away at armor at range and guarding the home objectives.

Thoughts?

i like your list alot personally not a big fan of runing all wolf lords as i like the jaws of world wolf is it works well for me but none the least it looks like a very competitive list

Too thin on troops.

Not hard to kill every single GH man, for most 2500pts army.

It's very hard to kill them when they're in AV11 boxes and you have 15 missiles flying at you every turn and giant mobile wolves ready to be in your face within a turn or two. If you attempt to focus on killing off all the troops then you'll be tabled in return.

As for the list, I really like it. Only thing I would suggest is cutting one squad of thunderwolves for a fourth lord with saga of the majesty. The rerollable leadership is a must when your using such an expensive deathstar. You could even cut out the fenrisian wolves and add two more thunderwolf cav. and join them with the lords for ablative wounds.

Maybe split the fenrisian wolves into two squads, or get rid of them all together and get another fast attack choice

You list is awesome!! However, I'd make a couple of changes. I'd take 2 wolf lords and put them with the units of TWC, cut out some of the unessential upgrades and scrap the Fenrisian Wolves. With the spare points I would add 3 razorbacks for the long fangs and an extra troop, so that you have a larger amount of long range anti- tank to stun vehicles as your wolves run up and a scoring unit. I've also managed to add in an extra wolf.

Not going to lie, this list looks brutal. I like Shoeboxs revisions to the list. I wouldn't want to be on the other side of that list.

Is this list effective? Yes
Is it cookie-cutter as hell? Yes

This is for ard boyz, so this will be a good list, but you'll probably see it a lot though. And I have seen problems with people who run 3 squads of long fangs. With 3 sqauds, it's easy to run out of good places to put them. And don't be afraid to throw a plasma cannon in there. You can divide fire so having 1 or 2 can really help if TEQ's get out in the open.

That list us illegal. The Wolf Lords can't have identical gear. Also, with GKs fast approaching, at least one with Saga of the Bear will be useful.

That revised list seems to have fewer threats. I like the extra Rbacks for the Long Fangs, but I am not sure sacrificing all that offensive potential is worth it. Four Rbacks and 15 missiles seems like plenty of long range firepower, especially with the metagame moving towards hybrid lists over full mech.

Well, that may be true, but this isn't really a gunline.

Right now, I am just struggling with the excessive cost of Missile Launchers and Thunderwolves. GW makes is very difficult to be a SW player - perhaps that is why they made the Codex so good, as a reward for not having models for their most popular unit - TWC. Heh.

Just keep an eye out for good deals. I was able to pick up a bunch of missiles on the cheap at both my local gaming store and from a friend who purchased them.

Other than that, I love how there is no model for the TWC. It allows you to be unique and the custom models that exist are most likely way better looking than what GW would make (Look at Canis lol)

True enough! Though I just can imagine, given some of the newer kits, how good a multi-part Thunderwolf kit could be like! Bloodcrushers being a great example of what could be.

Anyhow, going to keep an eye peeled, but I am not the only guy looking at my shop, so they go fast. Going to take a gander at the swap shop here maybe, to see what I can get.

Yeah you make a good point, I'd cut out the extra thunder wolf and stick saga of the bear on one and beastslayer on the other, which make them a lot more effective against GK, and generally everything... Also sorts out the equipment issue as well. I was also thinking it might be a good idea to take frost blades over the hammers, that way you can kill off TH/SS terminators or what ever before they hit you, and you still have loads of S6 attacks that can pop AV10 easy, on top of the thunder hammer in with the wolves.

In your original list, you only had 4 vehicles, which means that your opponent can divert loads of their fire power at your lords, and for 805 points, I don't think that unit is killy enough to survivable enough to justify its points. Also, by putting all your wolf lords in one unit it is screaming 'SHOOT ME, fethers!!'

I also think that your overestimating the survivability of the long fangs and your troops. An outflanking baal preditor will be the end of your long fangs, and my friend who is a DE player has enough poison shots to kill 8-12 MEQs, or 3-5 TEQs a turn at round 1.5k/2k, and runs mainly wyches, who's 4++ and FNP (with a pain token) in combat is fething nasty. It doesn't take very much to kill a razorback and the men inside, the way to get round this is to have lots of them. The long range anti- tank that the razorback offers mean that you can prevent the rest of your army from being shot, and long fangs don't help much when your playing against ork wagon rush or AV13 spam, which rely on mobile anti- tank to hit the side armour.

Check out ebay for bits, sometimes you can get a really good deal, and I think juggernaughts are the way forward when it come to thunder wolfs. Green stuff some hair here and there and you get an awesome looking cyber wolf! Personally, I might have some on cold ones, because dinosaurs>wolfs...

Awesome list, I'm looking at running something like this. The only thing I'd want is a rune priest, that's just personal preference though.

I just ordered some T-wolves from a place in the Phillipines - really nice looking wolves (resin) and they have the legs attached - I just needed to provide my own torsos - I think it was $75? maybe for 5 T-wolves and shipping was free. Best option that doesn't require skill with green stuff IMHO.

I'm not prejudiced, I hate everyone equally

The list looks very rough. Quite similar to what I will be running! As for the TWC I wrote two articles on how I converted mine, you can see 2 pics in my gallery, and another contributor on my blog wrote another article on his. Mine are fairly simple whereas the other conversion is more complex. Check them out at http://captureandcontrol.blogspot.com/p/hobby-side.html

It's my personal opinion that no SW list should ever be with out a Rune Priest. Especially with the new GK codex having everyone and their mother loaded with a psychic power of some sort. I turned off Cleansing Flame twice the other day and it won me the game.
