Hey guys quick question here. I noticed in the codex it said something about not being able to kit 2 HQs with the same thing. Does this mean I wouldn't be able to Kit out 2 Rune priests with JoTWW. I wanted to run 2 Priests with Jaws, but before I buy the models I want to be clear of the rules to ensure I can kit them out with the same psychic abilities. Thanks for your comments in advance.

IIRC, you can't have the same combo of powers.

I didn't think you could. I have just seen a few lists on here where people spam the same powers and nobody says anything.

The trick is that they don't take the same two powers. If I'm not mistaken it is legal to run two RP's with one power the same and then a different power.

Check the SW FAQ it spells this out.

Here is an example of what is legal

Rune Priest JotWW, Living Lightning
Rune Priest JotWW, Murderous Hurricane, Bolter
Rune Priest JotWW, Storm Caller, Melta Bomb
Rune Priest JotWW, Tempests Wrath, Storm Bolter

They all have different power combos because the 2nd one is different and they all have different wargear. Completely legal.

Mind you running a 4 Jaws list won't win you any friends, as it's generally regarded as beardier than hades..

Then again SW are Beardy Marines

I'm not out to make friends =) My gaming group is cheesy and competitive and to be honest, for us that keeps it really fun.

Fair do's then

Jaws away

If your group are cool with competitive play and play up the cheese then more power to ya

My local scene is less into cheese, and more into themed lists to fit a campaign mission set. Pickup games tend to be problematical if the person visiting has a cheese list, as the local group as a whole aren't Tournament players. That said there are a few who keep a competitive list on hand for those occasions

Why? Against most armies, it's not all that effective.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Speaking as an Ork and Necron player, and as a one-time Nid player, it's very fracking effective

Against Marines or Eldar, not so much, but there are other races out there you know
