Human Auxiliary to the Empire

If you began to read this from the sheer epic title, you have made a grave error, maybe not that bad, but that is what an aspiring Journalism Major will do for you. Anywho, let me set up the scene for those still interested.
Me, rocking the Eldar for the first time, proud to get them on the table so I can try them out, my adoration since the first time I tryed using them in Dawn of War clearly shining on the table and my face. The Avatar of Khaine, a Wraithlord, and a Farseer with an elite group of Warlocks, it was the perfect set up. The Fire Dragons were set up in a Wave Serpent and ready to strike, Fire Prisms at the ready, and Warp Spiders eager to deep strike just so their rookie leader could learn to like the taste of the surprise. Up on the other side of the field, the Dark Eldar, waiting to blast away my army with Dark Lances. But in my mind, I wasn't going to have it, NO SIR!
I got to place and rock first, little good it did unfortunately. After a few failed tank shots and nothing in range for my Avatar or Wraithlord to pick appart, my turn ended as abruptly as it started. Then brought on the pain. My buddy, SonofOdin (Check him out here on the Dakka machine), began to open fire with his tanks, aweful spread through my side of the field like wild fire and he disabled one Fire Prism and immobilized the other. Then, a squad of Reavers flew over the tiny bit of exposed Howling Banshies I had and destroyed them while leaving my Exarch with one wound left. Then his open topped Raiders swooped in next to my Avatar and Wraithlord, they were destroyed like wet toilet paper from the Dark Eldar's poison weapons. My God's only weakness is poison, who knew?
My second turn played out as well as you would expect it to. Warp Spiders got delayed when they landed on an enemy infantry squad, my Fire Prisms were no good this turn, and my Wraithlord had one shot to destroy a tank and it failed. My Fire Dragons did devistate a Ravager off the face of the fictional battlefield and my Howling Banshie charaged an infantry squard lowering their WS to 1 and winning the combat. But then my turn ended pathetically. I then watched as my Wraithlord, Farseer and remaining Warlock, Dire Avengers, and Exarch got destroyed from weapon fire (more poison in case it wasn't evident) and vicious attacks. It was devistating to watch my dice give a horde of ones to my defence. Half of my list, or more, wiped off the table.
The next turn was me throwing in the towel and thus began the rethinking phase. Now, had it been my Tau, I would have kept going knowing that I got shoot at run until we hit the end of turn six, that's a little pride I can take with them when I am in a losing situation. However, the fat lady was singing and I couldn't stand to see the end of turn 3.5 with this game. But I had to hand it to the mad tactics of my dark bretheren. What can you do when it was that much of a beat down.
Now reality check, even with the Eldar's awesome speed, the Dark Eldar a perfect match, literally, it was like fighting with a younger sibling, only now they're older and know how to whomp you. On top of that, my two powerhouses were toppled like Jenga towers with a little bit of poison, they don't take kindly too it. Now if I had gotten more 4s than 1s, I would have been in good shape to keep fighting, however, my dice rolling hand gave in before my demoralized troops. All in all, 3/4's of my army was wiped off the board while I destroyed 1 tank, 3 infantry, and 4 jet bikes. Yikes, maybe next time I will have a less Koga like opponent. Did I just bring Pokemon into the grim dark future? Count it!

Your red text hurt my eyes to the point where I didn't want to read past the first first paragraph. You might want to...y'know, tone it down a little.
Plus, I had no idea what the voting was for either, so I didn't bother.

Fighting Dark Eldar for us Craftworlders is tough. They are faster then us, they are more choppy then us, and they are more shooty then us. The only thing we have that they don't have is a modicum of durability. Your list especially seems to be dark eldar bait. Foot Eldar is going to have an especially difficult time with Dark Eldar- due to their poisoned weapons negating the extra toughness of wraithguard, lords, and the avatar. I play a Fast Eldar force, jump autarch, farseer, Warp Spiders, 2 squads of bikes, dragons and banshees in serpents, avengers and storm guardians in serpents, and 2 fire prisms. Whenever I play against DE force its always disconcerting, I'm outnumbered, and my usual advantage of mobility vanishes... it must be what space marine players feel like when they face off against us . That said when facing Dark Eldar, target priority is incredibly important. Also don't shoot to kill a tank, shoot to stun or shake it. Ravagers should be first priority, silencing them drastically lowers the anti tank coming your way. After the Ravagers have been silenced, then you need to focus your guns against his "scary" raiders. raiders filled with warriors sitting on an objective- should be low on priority range- stuff like that. Keep your units safely protected in the hulls of wave serpents. Remember, while he may have more anti tank shots then you, he still needs a 4 to even glance your tanks with his dark lances. Make use of scatter lasers and shuriken cannons, a single s6 shot hitting one of his tanks is usually the equivalent of one of his s8 shots hitting yours. Stay fast, stay calm, and be prepared for a fierce fight. Dark Eldar will always be a tough match up for Eldar players, because its an odd feeling not being able to out maneuver your enemy. EDIT: I'm boycotting your poll because the answers for Eldar seem kind of silly.

agreed. posting a battle report thread without an actual report for several days is spam in my book. i come here to read about games people played and look at pretty pictures of them, not to be bait-and-switched like with GW's big announcement emails. that's not necessarily the case with this thread since it has a short report but other ones.
