Guys, I ended up getting several LOTR figures from some company called NLP, at least that's what's written on the tab. I tried googling a bit, can't find anything on the company at all. Can anyone help me out with this?

Bump. I'd really like to get some info on these things. Not finding much with google still.

Way back in the 70's, Heritage Miniatures made some Middle Earth figures. They did not have tab-style bases. Ditto for Prince August, who made some from the 80's on. As far as I am aware, the only Middle Earth miniatures with tab bases are made by Games Workshp. If the tab really does say NLP, that might mean those are really early examples from the first production run of movie tie-ins, before GW & New Line had settled exactly how the minitures would be logoed.
But this is just speculation; I didn't have any luck with my internet search either. There might be production archives from 2000, in the Perry's file cabinet or GW's design studio, that could shed some light on the subject, but NLP could just be a recaster's initials. Without pictures it's impossible to tell.

[Edit] I was just over at OneRing.net. Several links do indeed take you to sites for New Line Productions, though none of them are for miniatures. So NLP probably does mean New Line productions, and you may just have some rare early Lord of the Rings memoriabilia, there.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.
