First attempt at putting together a list, I think it would be pretty decent plenty of lance for vehicles and a ton of CC for any infantry. Any critique is welcome

Drop a unit of wyches. Give each wych squad a hekatrix with an agonizer.

If not this is what its going to look like when you assault 10 vanilla marines

30 attacks on the charge WS4. 30*1/2 =15 hits

Wounding on 5s 15*1/3 =5

5 Wounds, marines save on a 3+ so 5*1/3= 1.66

so 1 maybe 2 die.

Let say 2 die.

7 regular marines hit back WS4. 7*1/2 = 3.5

Wounding on 3+ so 3.5*2/3 = 2.3

Wyches save on 4+ so 2.3*1/2 = 1.15

Now the sergeant same math. 3 attacks 1.5 hit...1 wounds. .5 die add that to 1.15

1.65

So its an even break. With you charging and basic vanilla marines if its blood angels or space wolfs they each have two attacks. You WILL lose.

Sorry for the long math and everything but I feel it was worth it to show you.

Definitely. There are daemons and plague marines (lots of them) out there and, soon, dreadknights. You need agonizers, every time. You can't count on rolling +1STR for combat drugs to deal with high Toughness enemies.

Heck, I even put into the new Tactica that Wyches should *always* take Agonisers, and I'm surprisingly willing to admit other strategies exist.

Though I will say the best way to deal with high toughness enemies is just shoot them with lances or (better) poison guns, I'm pretty sure we have a few of those lurking in our army.

I think the lack of Agonisers is the biggest 'eeek' in your list as stands - you've got a lot of assault but no real way to deal with anything you assault that happens to be wearing 3+ armor, and I'm pretty sure there's a lot of that out there.

Awesome thanks for the advice! Any perspective on blast pistols, are they worth the points?

I'd consider blast pistols an indulgence.

Generally you either want anti-tank that has better range, or you are just popping rounds into a squad prior to assaulting it and at that point you usually believe you're about to kick that squad's arse anyway.

If I had extra points I might spring for a couple, but I'd never try to build any strategy around them, and would happily drop them to help afford more units or alternate upgrades I felt were more needed. (like, say...Agonisers )

list looks pretty solid i guess, but the hekatrix could be very good indeed.
