• Upgrade the turret’s reaper autocannon to a hellfire autocannon for 15pts, or a twin-linked hellfire autocannon for 30pts

• Dozer Blades, Dirge Casters or pintle-mounted weapons may be selected using the points and restrictions listed under the Chaos Predator entry in Codex: Chaos Space Marines.

Hellfire Shells – Hellfire shells are imbued with daemonic energies and burn with violent warpflame that twists and warps what it touches until it reaches its target and erupts in unquenchable flames. Furthermore, if a vehicle with hellfire shells is destroyed, the stores of ammunition inside are stirred. In addition to any damage caused by the damage result, models (friend and foe) within 6” of the Vehicle are stuck by a Strength X AP3 shell that always wounds on a 4+, vehicles taking a glancing hit on a roll of 4+ or a penetrating hit on a roll of 6 that counts as AP-.

A weapon with hellfire shells has its AP reduced by 1 (So an AP4 weapon becomes AP3) and ignores cover.

Baleflame – Baleflame is the stuff of the warp contained inside the belly of the daemon possessing the vehicle. It can be focussed into a devastating weapon or radiated to hit multiple targets around it.

A vehicle may radiate baleflame in any assault phase. All models (friend and foe) in base contact with the vehicle take an automatic hit with armour saves allowed at a strength of 4 -1 for every template weapon used by the vehicle in that turn’s shooting phase, to a minimum of 1.

A vehicle with Baleflame increases the strength of any template weapons on the vehicles or carried by those inside. The Baleflame Spewer already has this added strength included in its profile.

Point costs have been devised with some help from one of my friends (because i'm crap at costing stuff), but he hasn't played for years and is used to pre-5th edition point costs, but they're the only things i'm worried about.

Overall, i'm happy with the way they've panned out and i'm currently trying to stick them into the IW Fandex I forgot about since I last updated it in '09.

FAQ:

Q: Both vehicles are listed as having daemonic possession, would this mean their BS is reduced to 2 or has this already been applied?

Shouldn't the Hellfire Autocannon and Hellfire Heavy Boltgun both be AP 5 according to your own rules?

I didn't know how to word it; reducing AP can go both ways, either reducing the number (from 4 to 3) or reducing the effectiveness (4 to 5) and vice versa if we increase the AP.

It is, however, explained by the example, "A weapon with hellfire shells has its AP reduced by 1 (So an AP4 weapon becomes AP3)" to avoid any confusion.

How about instead of writing in a rule as such, why not just change the weapons profile instead of leaving it open to confusion.

Leave the reason why the AP or Strength was changed to the fluff area of the description.

As it stands, I see no possible way for confusion to arise unless someone decided to ignore the example, in which case i'd tell them to re-read it until they spot it.

Pretty cool. I like flame templates, especially cheap TL'd ones.

Seems pretty solid, but I would have to see them in action before making any judgement on them.

More varients for us is always a good thing.

It really does need more varients, other than: right, you can take this weapon or this weapon, but hang on! Thats exactly the same as normal MEQs!
