Right now I have about 2,000 point of chaos and am looking to expand my way into a squad of chosen along with another Rhino. My army is a Death Guard variant, with rotting greens and greenstuff wounds around to share. Looking in my Codex, I think a squad of 5 chosen armed with Plasma Pistols and Lightening Claws along with a mark of slaanesh would give me much lulz when facing my space marine buddy. Thing is, how would you react in if you played me at a store. Would you care that the Mark of Nurgle is actually a Mark of Slaanesh in my army list? I would make it clear and show my opponent the list and models in question pre game. I don't want to waste money on models that I can only use with two or three people.

As long as its fairly obvious, I don't think many people would give a damn. I know I've thought of Plague Marines for my Iron Warriors using cybernetics and the like instead of plague and zombie stuff.

I wouldn't be too keen on it. It is one thing for them to be painted green and slimy and carrying the Slaanesh Symbol on a big banner pole - that is just fine and dandy with me. I can look at the unit and I know what it is.

If it is a green and slimy unit carrying a big Nurgle Icon on a banner pole and it is a unit with the mark of Slaanesh that just doesn't sit right with me - it is like saying this guy with a bolter is a meltagun, and this guy with a bolter is a flamer - you have to be able to tell what a model is when you look at it.

This might not be an issue if you play with the same group of guys over and over, but at a store or especially a tournament it would be a real pain.

Personally I don't care about Chaos or know much about their marks, however I can see that for someone who does, it would be highly misleading to badge up your army as one specific type and count it as another type.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Until I get plague terminators back people are just going to have to deal, I'll say the mark makes my foes sick enough where they can't move as quickly as normal.
