Hi guys, I'm new to War of the Ring, and started collecting a Minas Tirith force. Here is what I have so far:
2 Companies of Warriors with Captain and Banner Bearer=135pts
2 Companies of Warriors=50pts
2 Companies of Archers=60pts
3 Companies of Knights with Captain and shields= 140pts
3 Companies of Knights of Dol Amroth, Captain, Banner Bearer, Hornblower=250pts
Aragon=200pts

I aim to get more Archers and Warriors, and have some models at home that I am getting within the week. Is this a good start so far?

It sounds cool. I don't know too much about the game rules themselves. I played a demo but that was a couple years ago. I'm looking to get into it now as well.

Doesn't look like a bad start, however one thing I can definitely recommend is merging the two formations of Minas Tirith Warriors. In my experience small formations of basic troops like those don't last long. However a block of 4 companies is a much more powerful prospect and should last longer.

That's a good, basic starter army. As you continue you'll want to get more heroes. Definitely Gandalf, probably Boromir, possibly Faramir & Imrahil. It's worth building a unit of Osgiliath Veterans, even if you have to convert most of the models.

Aragon is a powerful hero, but maybe you should should get some more troops or horsemen (like the dol amroth) that are more elitest, some rare formations. Possibly also a legendary formation to make it a bit cooler and harder to take down. Overall, great!
