hello,

first reading the characters, they do not appear to be limited to a single mark, the units are as they buy "a mark"

as a character that joins a unit is part of that unit, are they affected by all affects that affect the whole unit.

Does a Mon/MoK/MoS/MoT bought for a "unit" of marauders affect a character that has joined the unit? obviously if the character leaves the unit they lose that as they are no longer part of the "unit".

Tx

Perhaps I shouldnt answer not being entirely sure, but I believe the character would not get the mark of the unit. Certain characters may purchase a mark and would not be affected by joining a unit that has a different mark except indirectly. For example, Wulfrick (character with no mark) joins a unit of marauders that has MOK. The unit charges and have enough of their ranks cut down by a stand and shoot response that would normally cause for a panic test, the MOK makes the unit immune to this so whats left finishes the charge, Wulfrick would not have to take a panic test either as he is part of the unit, but he will not get an extra attack from being frenzied.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

a character doesn't benifit from a unit's mark.

now a character could purchase multiple marks(possably) and nothing says, IIRC, that a character can't join a unit with a different mark.

the only restriction i see is that a Character that gets a chariot for a mount can't have a different mark from it.

now, if a unit of MoS marauders is joined by a character who doesn't have the MoS the unit still gets the benifits(and the character indirectly)

if it was MoK, the character wouldn't be frenzied, but the unit would still be frenzied(and have to test to attempt a charge)

a MoT unit would still have the 6+ ward, but the character wouldn't.

a MoN unit would still have the -1ws/bs modifier(and the character would benifit except against attacks directed at him specifically like Hochland longrifles)

WoC army book, page 110. Second paragraph of "Marks of Chaos"

A model may not have more than one mark.

But I don't find anything preventing a character with a mark joining a unit with a different mark, and as Templar showed they may get some indirect benefit due to the wording on some special rules.
