Hey guys whats going on? I just have a quick question. For my Grey Hunter models I used the close combat weapon and Bolt pistols for everyone. I'm not a huge fan of the Bolt gun models and I have a couple special weapons in the team that I wanted to stand out. Do you think anyone would give any grief since they look like Blood Claws? Considering they have the Close Combat weapon and Bolt Pistol in their gear lay out, I cant see it being a problem. Thanks for the response guys.

Do you run Blood Claws in your lists? Even if you do just paint them distinctively and there will be no problem.

All of my Grey Hunters are done the same (except a few have boltgun + ccw).

I don't plan on playing in tournaments with my Space Wolves, so I modeled whatever special weapons I needs and then everything else, I just started throwing whatever weapons I could find on people. I have people using frost blades. I have a dude duel weilding chainswords. I certainly can't give you grief and I have only met one who might, but I can't see a whole lot of visual difference between Grey Hunters and Blood claws anyway. You should be fine.

The main difference would be their right-hand shoulder pad colours. Blood Claws are yellow with red markings or armour coloured with yellow honor marks, whereas Grey Hunters do red with black markings or armour coloured with red honor marks. Also Blood Claws never have boltguns. I was suggested to use assault marines for my blood claws because of the running pose.

Since you dont play competitively, no one should give you grief. Unless they're hardcore gamers or also Wolf Players, they probably wont know what the difference between bloodclaws and grey hunters are, or rather, even know that Grey Hunters are a different unit. For a time being I use to call GH's "Tactical Marines" when referencing them. In hindsight, now I know why they all gave me funny looks.

Thanks for the responses guys. Since I dont run Blood Claws, and Grey Hunters actually have the Close Combat Weapon and Bolt Pistol in their war gear, I think ill be fine.

At some point I really want to run a 500pt blob of 15 Blood Claws in a Land Raider Crusader.

The 500 pt Blood Claws in Land Raider Crusaders is fun. I tore through some orks.

Of course there would be the wolf priest, but that makes it 600 total.
