Tau have long ranged artillery, bubble wrapping Kroot, and a few other surprises that often take the form of Crisis Suits, Devilfish hoppin' Fire Warriors for lake game objective grabbing, and markerlights. Here are a few things to think about: Aside from the Railguns, Tau are limited in their firing range, usually under 30". Their bread and butter long range support lies in the Heavy Support slot. They can either field Hammerheads with Railguns (or perhaps Ion Cannons), or Twin-linked Railguns on top of Broadsides. Both options have their strengths and weaknesses, but the bottom line is that Tau like to place these units in the backfield and wrap around them some disposable Kroot fodder. As an ork, you have to get to that sweet inner coating. It means driving as many boyz as you can towards them and eventually overwhelm their ability to fire. Here are a few tactics: Green Tide- 180 bodies is painfully hard for Tau to conquer as their number of shots does not equal what a DE or IG list can spam versus infantry. Hell, alot of armies could get crushed under this assault. Just bring some KFF Big Meks and Lootas. Ambush- Taking Snikrot led Burna Boyz is never a bad idea. The concept is that he can come on from any table edge and punish an opponent for hugging the backfield, which Tau usually do. Shrink the field by adding him in with some burna boyz and force him to move closer towards you, as Snikrot has a potential 18" threat range on the Waaagh!. Battlewagon Spam- Take enough of these with Deffrollas and push the whole lot towards the opponent. That Str 10 weaponry is punishing, but getting your orks there is the bigger mission. Customary KFF Big Mek needed.
