So I started building a chaos landraider and after I had begun initial construction I decided I wanted to pick up FW doors. I got a set off ebay but I had already put the middle section together. I imagine this must come up a decent amount, or similarly I know I've put together a Rhino forgetting to put the back door in place, but I've never seen a tutorial or thread on it.

I was wondering what suggestions Dakka may have to remove the old door and to put in the new one and get it to still function with the little lever system. The easy part is getting the old door out, just a couple of snips. Tricky part is sliding in the new door somehow and having it still work. To be clear I'm talking about the upper door of the assault ramp. So far my only thought is to cut the pegs off of the FW door, leave the pegs in place from the old one, and then try to frankenstein the old pegs and the new door together.

Extra info: current state of the LR is that I have it mostly constructed minus the side that the lever system is on.

Any suggestions/comments are appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: I just realized the FW pegs don't even fit into the lever mechanism... Wow that's stupid. Frankenstein idea just became a whole lot more sensible. I'd just snip (or better yet use a saw to get a clean straight cut right on the money) one peg off each door, leaving the one connected to the lever in place on the LR. Then I should be able to pivot the new door in and drop a dab a glue. Thoughts?

That the pegs don't fit should be just the smallest problem.
It's quite common to find the ENTIRE piece doesn't fit because it is too small.

Ref: Rhino Repressor kit.
Some hatches for vehicles.

Or too large to fit.
Ref also some hatches.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Yea the side hatches are a bit small. They fit fine but i'm going to have to center them so the spacing between the hatches and the openings on one side isn't awful.

In the case of the top assault door though, it seems to be a good match size wise. It's just a matter of figuring out the cleanest way to swap them out.

Yeah the landraider front doors from FW are always a tad too small, so chopping the bit out or glueing them in place afterwards, shouldn't be too much of a problem at all.

easiet way to get them out, is to cut the round peg section, and then run model knife down the seems etc.

was it superglue or plastic glue you used?

If superglue, freeze it and it should break off easy then.
