But if it explodes, any marines that can't fit in the MUCH smaller footprint are killed outright. Balances out somewhat.

Can't they still emergency disembark?

Yes, but that won't help in a Wrecked-Explodes outcome, for 2 reasons:

1) Emergency disembark is only for when you cannot get out of a Vehicle via access points.

2) With the Explodes result the passengers never disembark, they are just there while the vehicle explodes around them.

Son 0f Dorn wrote:^ Correct. Has screwed my friend over with orks on a couple occations. BW footprint is pretty small when it's all the way full.

What did he have inside? There is no problem fitting about 25 boyz in its footprint.

I had the front half surrounded and he couldn't be within an inch of my guys.

To quote from the other thread. So basically you're saying if a vehicle explodes, you have to stay away 1" from enemy units. You may not emergency disembark because thats only for access points.

1) Is there any rules backup for any of this?

2) Is "explodes" a forced disembark?

3) Do you have to stay 1" away from enemy models even if it wasn't? If you do, why?

4) If it is a forced disembark for what reason should a emergency disembark not be permitted?

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

If the vehicle explodes, you don't disembark, you have to fit the transported models in the footprint of the vehicle.
BRB pg 67: "The surviving passengers are placed where the vehicle used to be, and then take a pinning test".

If the vehicle is wrecked: BRB pg 67: "The passengers must immediately disembark and then take a pinning test. Any models that cannot disembark are destroyed".

As from RAW, it seems models transported in an exploding only take the str 4 hit, and are placed in the vehicles footprint
(maybe enemy models that are too close are pushed back a little bit by the explosion if this would cause them to be within 1" of the transported squad).

If the transport is wrecked, the unit has do disembark (from access points or emergency), and any model that can not be placed is removed.
