Hey, just finished a very close game vs orcs with a buddy at my gaming club. heres a recap: (fyi mostly from memory, if its easier, let me know and i will include vassal illustrations, if they're not against forum rules)
My list:
Vect
4 Bloodbrides in venom w/ tormentor
5 incubi w/ klaivex w/onslaught in venom w/ tormentor
4 trueborn w/ blasters in raider FF aether
3x7 wyches w/ haywire Hek w/ agon in raider w/ FF grisley
2x5 warriors w/ blaster in venom
(all venoms have extra SC)
Ravagerx2 w/3DL and FF
Talos w/ chains haywire

His list:(very rough guesses, but youll get the idea)
Warboss w/ power claw
6 Nobs w/ 2/3 power claws in Battlewagon
Warboss on bike with power claw
12 Nobs on bikes w/ FNP and a bunch of power claws throughout the squad
1 squad of 20-30 boys w/ power claw
1 squad of ard boys with power claw and rokkit
3 Deffkoptas
12 Lootas

Terrain was desert themed, with a large ruin in the center, a small hill south of it, another hill southeast, a large rock formation northeast, another set of ruins west with a couple of collapsed columns forming infantry cover. Table Quarters with 3 objectives. One in center ruin, on in southwest corner, one just east of the center ruin, about 14". He takes Northeast, and goes first. He deploys his lootas around the large rock formation and his two boys squads moving towards the two objectives in the center. His bikes set up just east of center with his battlewagon north and slightly east of the center ruin.

I deploy my talos as close as i can to the center along my northmost edge, using it to draw fire. My venoms with vect and the incubi deploy behind the hill south of the center ruins, while the rest of my vehicles form a tigh tank column along the northwest edge of my deployment zone. Venoms with warriors up front, wyches behind them, followed by the ravagers. He then infiltrates/scouts the deffckoptas into the northwest table quarter, ready to move in on the top of my armor column. I roll rerolls to wound on combat drugs.

Top Turn 1
I fail to steal and he boosts his bikes right into my deployment zone, ditto the battle wagon, which moves about 15" and disembarks the nobs. So if you could picture it, his bikes lurched straight ahead, and his nobs barrled off the battlewagon just to the northwest of his bikers, Right in the heart of my army. His deffkoptas move in directly north of my warrior venom. His boys move up and take the objectives, his ard boys in the ruins and his boys moving in the open. Right off the bat, his shootahs annihilate the venom carrying my incubi, as they couldnt draw LoS to vect, with one dying in the explosion. His koptas blow up the venom, leaving 3 warriors remaining, who fail their pinning check. His nobs charge my talos, which kills one before it dies. The nobs consolidate towards my armor. He then assaults the warriors in the crater with the koptas, killing 1. They are unable to retaliate. He ends his turn.
Bottom 1
I disembark vect and brides and move in towards the bikers. The incubi roll a 2 on diff terrain to climb out of the wreckage and roll a 2 on their run check(i asked if it was ok and he agreed), so not great, but more than enough to assault the mass of bikes. The wyches that were shot at by the nobs move behind the koptas and disembark, ready to charge the koptas. One ravager moves north to get a shot at the battlewagon side armor, while the other moves south to line up the bikes. One wyche raider turbos to behind vect's venom, while the other moves up to fill its space(moving 6") and drops its passengers in front of his nobs. The warrior venom remaining, as well as the trueborn, move 6" south away from his units. The first ravager whiffs completely on the wagon, as does the raider who just moved north to drop the wyches. The remaining wych raider hits the wagon, pens, explodes! killing 1 nearby ard boy. Everything else in my army shoots into his nobs and bikes, killing 4 nobs in the foot squad and killing 1 bike and wounding another. The venoms really shined here, as did the blaster trueborn. At the end of my shooting phase, his nobs take a ld...and fail...running out of assault range of my wyches. Balls, the wyches up north charge into the deffkoptas, killing 2, and taking no casualties. Vect and the incubi charge into the bikes, splitting them. Vect is in b2b with his warboss, and my shardnet was able to charge and hold both powerclaws near vect, perfect. Vect goes first and deals SIX power weapon wounds to the warboss, killing him. The wyches roll pretty poorly, as do my wyches. My incubi land a couple of wounds as well. He only gets to make 4 choppa attacks on vect, one getting through, and i roll a !*@&#(& one. his power claws take down 1 wych and 2 incubi, i win but he holds and we pile in.

Top 2
Ard boys pile into ruins getting most of the cover. His nobs and warboss regroup and move back towards my vulnerable wyches. He uses his whaag and rolls a 1, so he moves his boys up and is stillable to charge my incubi. His lootahs whiff on my raider that flat outed and his nobs kill 3 wyches in shooting. I think he also stunned another raider. The nobs charge into my wyches, wiping them out, but not before taking another casualty and consolidating up into the ruins nearby. My wyches kill the remaining kopta and gain a PT. Vect and the wyches decimate his bikers, while i foolishly allocate incubi attacks to bikes instead of his boys, possibly gaining more wounds for combat resolution. Of note: a power klaw got through on vect, but he made his 6+ invul to negate, crazy. Either way, i won the combat and his bikers failed his leadership and were overtaken. His boys were fearless and lost a boy for being so. What an assault phase.

Bottom 2
The empty wych raider flys down to pick up vect. While the raider full of wyches flys up and disembarks near the boys & incubi. The wyches embark after killing the koptas and move flat out into the center near vects new ride. Everything else hangs back to finish off his nobs, which they do, forcing the remaining one to fall back indefinitely. The assault with the wyches and boys...didnt go well. My incubi were slaughtered and my wyches lost 4, and fell back, rolling a 1 on the sweeping roll, and were overtaken, gah.

Top 3
His lootahs shoot at the raider with vect and the bloodbrides in the center, sploding it. His ard boys try and act like they dont have BS 2, and shoot at vect, killing his retinue, but leaving him unscathed. his boy move towards vect however are definitely not going to be able to assault and are stuck in no mans land.

Bottom 3
The raider with the wyches drops them off near vect, combining the units and now having 2 pain tokens, charging into his boys. The rest of my army either flat outted to set up a turn 5 sneak of the objectives, or picked off boys/ard boys. Vect and co obliterate the boys , losing a couple wyches in the process.

Top 4
His ard boys shoot and kill all the wyches with vect and deal him another wound, down to 2. His lootahs dont do anything this turn

Bottom 4
I assault vect into his ard boys, pulling them off their objective, i also set up a bunch of moves where it was pretty clear even a tie would be unlikely. He only had his lootahs and ard boys remaining and i was contesting one objective, and holding 2(the one in my deployment, and the one east of center where his boys were(the warriors in the crater hopped in an empty raider and captured it). He decided to call it.

Sorry for the long winded post, it was a loooong game. I think im getting alot better at planning my engagments and not letting the enemy bring his firepower fully to bare(bear?). I was shocked at how deadly vect really is, especially with his bloodbrides. seriously consider trying this out if you've only ever done incubi. I may consider making them regular wyches, but ill have to tinker with the list. overall i couldve planned some things better, but im really liking the idea of a talos drawing turn 1 fire and freeing up ALL my vehicles to move

haha great batrep! this does sound like a truly epic game..

I was wondering why the ork player's shooting wasn't downing more stuff...sounds like you must be positioning well -- GJ!

Reading Vect's escapades was a lot of fun, why do you say the bloodbrides were so good? I guess a unit with invuls and shardnets is a pain in the ass for your opponent....

Well he dumped most of his points into the 2 nobs and battlewagon, all that he had left were the two squads of boys and the one squad of lootahs. after the game we talked about possibly breaking the lootahs down into smaller squads so he can shoot at diff targets. I think his biggest issue is that i had 4 raiders, 4 venoms, 2 ravagers and a talos on the board, just too many units to shoot at(given the comp of his list) i think he had something like 900 points locked up in nobs. and when he finally did down a transport, there was another empty one ready to swoop in and pick up the passengers

i always ran vect with incubi, which are great, but really, do you need more killing power in a squad than vect to begin with? the bloodbrides are cheaper, can hand out a fair amount of punishment in their own right, and if they do get assaulted by a deathstar, have a shot to return attacks, as opposed to incubi which just blow their power weps into stormshields and then get eaten. I like incubi and think they have a place, but i would rather have the punishment spread out a bit more.

I'd consider running Vect with plain wyches then. Cheaper and lets him claim an objective.

Other than that good game. Work on your list a bit and go win some tourneys!
