Personally, i would say that since I started the gaunt's ghost series, it has become feth, I even use it in real life sometimes.

I know how you feel, I use feth in daily life now too! and that's just from reading posts on dakka! crazy how the cup runneth over and you never realise.

Yep, and the swearing's just the start, I have begun referring to coffee as 'caf brew' and laptops as 'Data slates' there's no saving me now...

lol, well like any second laguage, the first words you learn are the swears. But you must've read a lot of book to get to that, lol.

Oh yes, i've got over 20 black library books so far, and despite some not being 'easy' to read I can't give them up in the vain hope I find one as good as Ian Watson's original 'space marine' novel! classic.

Just the way I envision him speaking that line has made me love that word. Can't place my finger on what accent I'm imagining him as having, but it works for him. Really well.

"Sacred feth!" is always fun too.

And not a lot puts a smile on your face quite so much as seeing a writer dare to write 'bastard' in their books. Without that word, everything is so much less realistic..

personally, I always imagined the miners with a little bit of redneck accent.

And yeah, Dan Abnett really did make his book realistic (enough to make me sleep and average of 3 hours a night because I wanted to read "one last page" when I was reading the two first omnibus of the gaunts ghost series. As well as some other books that I just don't recall the name.

"Feth" has certain replaced a certain other 4 let word in my vocabulary.

And while it's not a swear, "Flaming Mork!" has been once or twice.

"By the Emperor's tits!"

I always liked "Emperor's bowels!"
