I'm going to be starting on a true scale pre-heresy Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus next month, and I wanted to know your opinion on which codex is best to represent them? Thanks in advance!

Yeah, but I'm talking about the luna wolves before the heresy, when they were still against chaos...

Definately vote for Vanilla, although SW for modelling purposes (not the codex, just the models).

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

They where basicaly described as the best, most glorious chapter of their day. They didn't have a partucular speciality or flaw. They where just kind of the best at winning, pretty much like the Ultrasmurfs are now, so definatly codex marines.

Well, from what i gather form the books they tended to favour a "Speartip" way of attacking. Charging in at a particular point fo the enemy forcmation and breakgin them from there.

So from that i woudl think you would be looking at a more assault based army where your troops can charge in. So i'm thinking BA with an emphasis on Assault troops without the jump packs.

Iron Warriors (8000 points-ish)

Thanks everyone! I've been thinking about using ultramarines, but I would never have thought of using blood angels, so I will definitely check that out.
