Sorry guys probably been covered before but cant find a recent thread about it, need to understand this as it came up last night; if the vehicle is wrecked (result 5) and the exit points are blocked by enemies but the whole vehicle is not , can an embarked unit perform an emergency disembark or is it destroyed?

You many perform an emergency disembark given that there is room. If you do this the unit disembarking may not do anything for a turn.

This is exactly the situation that Emergency disembark is for.
now if the enemy models/impassible terrain completely disallowed even emergency disembark(not more than 3" between enemy models and/or Impassable terrain is within 1" of both enemy models and the transport) then the unit gets destroyed as it cannot disembark.
Also to note that it cannot disembark onto the now wrecked transport because they disembark before the transport becomes a wreck(Difficult terrain).

Now remember this, if you cannont place every model without being within 1" of an enemy unit, the whole unit is not destroyed. You just remove models until you can place your unit farther than 1" away. But many times the whole unit will be destroyed because the enemy will completely surround the transport.

You've got that backwards, a 6 is better than a 5(since the vehicle explodes, the embarked unit takes a hit on each model with Armor saves applicable; then the unit is placed where the Transport used to be, so more models can/will survive the explosion when a tank is assaulted to death and 100% covered).
