This is my new blog for my new army of silliness. I will update as I can but it is very early at the moment

I have always wanted to create a squat army but managed to get sidetracked onto other new shinies. However, whilst looking for some Admech stuff (a project that's now on hold for this), I found Bob Olley's psychic (evil) 'scrunts'.
They are absolutely perfect for chaos squats and these, combined with lots of other miniature ranges, are perfect for an evil squat army.
This army will not be used for tournaments really so if people have a problem with playing it, I am not too bothered.

The Background:

I am not one for writing heavy fluff but need to mention that these guys are your typical fallen squat race who have a love of psychic control, genetic mutation and cloning and possess a penchant for the demonic. Due to their engineering, they have become a 'hive' race, led by the psychic machines and psychically tuned models (synapse)
This army will initially work as a 'counts as' nid army but will have other models added so it can work with IG.

Painting:

I always paint stuff very dark/gritty and never use greenstuff. For this army, I will be painting it in ridiculously bright, cartoony colours. Yellows/purples etc.
This is not a serious army by any means.

I can assemble this for obvious reasons so you will have to imagine how it looks. It is a cloning facility, all hooked up to the cloning computer and ran by an evil mastermind.

Little update.

I have worked on cleaning the majority of the basic scrunts so my termagants are ready to prime. I decided to use the models I was going to use as Genestealers as more termagants.

As a result, this how the termagants are currently looking:



Also, I am using these models to replace the genestealers. The flying guy will be a Broodlord. They look more combat focused and I HAD to fit the models in somehow! I have another 12 to make



Also, no idea what I am going to do with this guy but he MUST be used!

This army looks great! I would have gone IG for counts as, but this is very inspired, keep it up!

The Darth mini would make a great Warrior Alpha. Lictors should be sneakier, and this guy says "I kick butt for the Dark Side!" all over him.

Really, really cool start man. You might want to reconsider your Genestealers/Termangants merge: A counts-as army should be really uniform so you only have to explain things once (paint scheme can help that a little, but figs really matter). If you can afford more of the raygun guys, having all your termagants be the same would be good. And you never know when you're going to want a few Ymargl genestealers, which the other guys would represent well.

Can't wait to see how this looks with paint! So original!

Hmm, thinking about it, I will be using Mr Ulkan and Mr Flying Big Hands as Tyrant Guard. Just need one more beefy model to use as the third one!

This is awesome stuff. Very glad to see someone do the Bob Olley mutant Scrunts on a larger scale. I got the Psychic schrunts with that machine thing and a big bag of Scrunties about a year ago. Sadly only got to paint one Scrunty so far. I'm very much looking forward to how this project develops!

That looks like it could be an old armorcast Reaver titan, nice find.

A few more models came through today so I can make a small update.

7 squats in exo came through to be used as warriors + a trike as a warrior prime.
