On account of being new to the Black Templars, I have decided to throw myself on the Mercy of the Dakkites.

I am looking to build based 1000pt Black Templars list. The list will be topped by Marshal Lazarus and Emperor's Champion Augustin. I want a nice, strong theme to run through the army. Something obvious, Terminators, DPs, Rhinos, but I would also like to know how I would do it.

well ive been playing BT for about 6yrs and i do not do the Drop Pod because most things in the codex are not very shooty unless you wanna use a squad of termies with x2 assault cannons or dreadnoughts and the rhino's in the codex are a little overpriced. i prefer fottsloggin 20man crusader squads

Hmmm, that was what I was thinking. But, how would you run it? Charge straight at them or what?

I don't know, but where I come from 70 point land speeder typhoons are pretty shooty, as are terminators with CMLs and tank hunters.

That said, two HQ choices at 1k points might be a tad excessive, it'll eat the precious points you need for the rest of the army.

Marshals are great addition to a Shooty Infantry List.

Marshal + Terminator Armor + Terminator Command Squad + Guns + Tank Hunters.

then add in more terminators with guns and tank hunters, and small crusader squads (5x people) with Lascannons and Plasma guns
