What's your favorite copy of white dwarf and why? i'm sure those that buy or have bought it in the past have one copy that they find themselves reading over and over again?
My favorite is Number 327 March 2007, I find the battle rep good and entertaining and the models and painting of the 'new' plastic Devastator kit inspiring, as well as the awesome thousand sons show army and article on Laibrarians, there is something to read and re-read each time I pick it up, the introduction to the new Dark Angels codex is great for reminiscing and checking out the great models and paint!

I don't remember the number, but it was the one where they had the first battle report for 2nd edition 40K, Blood Angels vs Orks. One hit and I was hooked. Bastards!

Yep strange how they can produce some garbage but it can take one great edition to really spark something in us! I love reading through the 'better' old ones and checking out the Necromunda reports and models, they were great! and seeing how the 'masterclass' paint jobs have gone from roughly how I paint now to the phenomenal ones that I could never hope to reproduce!

Hope I'm not Thread-Necromancing........BUT I have to say my all time favorite White Dwarf issue is between #300 (which is just epic and all around awesome) and my very first issue which was at the conclusion of the 3rd War For Armageddon (there is Empire Knights on the front cover). If I had to choose I would go with #300, its just full of so much awesome stuff that I still refer to for conversion ideas.

Sounds like a good edition, what did the cover look like? I may need to track it down?

Issue 300? It has an Adrian Smith wrap around cover of the White Dwarf coming at the reader through some snow up in the mountains. I think the cover even folded out to make this huge long panel of a Dwarven battle line (my cover has become lost long ago due to so much use) versus Orcs and Goblins. It was a pretty thick issue too. Ogre Kingdoms just launched and so there was a ton of Ogre conversions and a battle report versus Dwarves. A HUGE short story involving the legend of the White Dwarf penned by Gav Thorpe and when I mean short story it doesn't describe it, its more like an actual novels worth of story. Then theres the enormous 40k section with a plethora of conversions, a Kill-Team scenario, Dave Taylor's Custodian army, an awesome battle report with Blood Ravens versus Orks. Its worth tracking down.

Edit: If your lucky enough to find one that is still in mint condition you may get the huge map and paint pot stickers as well :]

Last year's June issue, the one with Spearhead. I really liked that issue even if it was just pedaling tanks.

My favorite would have to be #204. It was my first White Dwarf I got when I was 10 years old. It was free along with 1 plastic Terminator and the 1997 40K color catalogue because of some promotion GW was running.

All the 190ish issues. They always used to have cardboard cutouts to augment all of their games. Was kind of cool to really want the magazine to get the extra wargear cards or psyker abilities.
