I recently picked up 10 desert wasteland themed bases from Dragon Forge, as well as a large 60mm one for my upcoming Warboss conversion. However, before painting them in large numbers or the bigger one, I figured I'd give one a quick test and see how it came out.

This is my first time painting a base beyond adding a basecoat and glueing sand to it so I'm really looking for feedback and CC here if possible.

For this I used:

Basecoat Snakebite leather
Devlan mud wash
Dry brush snakebite
Dry brush snakebite and bleached bone 50/50 mix
Dry brush bleached bone

Nicely painted! Shows how high-qualtiy the base is too. Only issue I have is that the large rock slightly overpowers the mini itself. This draws the eye away from the wonderful paintjob you've achieved.

Now that you mention it I know what you mean. This is actually the only one of the bases with the large rock on, so should be ok with the others.

I'm pleased with how the rock came out, but I feel I could add some more details to the sand. Any pointers?
