Will any faction in 40K ever "win", or will GW just keep the status quo? What do YOU think!. Making one side win would obviousy anger people who played as another faction an i dont think GW would get rid of an army because that would cause them to loose a lot of players, but wouldnt it be strange if it just went on in the same time never ending. They could keep expanding the progression of time but keep the game locked in the 41st millenium. Of course if there ever was a faction that GW would make triumphant i would say it is the Imperium. Not just because i play as them but becouse its humanity and last i checked we are all humans. GW lso is biased towards the IoM, they describe them as the heroes and when they talk of Chaos they say things that are not in their favor. In the end ithink GW would want the IoM to destroy chaos becouse as i said were all humans the Iom is hamanitys only hope for survival and they also love Space Marines. [/img]

To be honest I very much doubt GW would ever produce a winner, ruins the fun!

They'd also be shooting themselves in the foot financially. "Game over folks, thanks for playing", the sales would go down the pan.

Thats what i think. Im just saying if GW had to make somone win i think they would pick the IoM. lol and that would be funny, going to GW and seeing a big announcment Imperium wins! games over.

Well, if GW announced a winner, the game would become like some sort of a game based on Lord of the Rings. You could play the bad guys if you wanted, but...



As such, I don't think a game like that could be financially viable in the long term, due to a lack of bad guys and everyone only ever playing good guys. I'd think GW would have the common sense never to develop a game like that...

Saying that however, often the bad guys are the most fun.
In lotr for example, the wraiths or whatever they are called (the old ghost kings on those black horses) are pretty damned awesome!

I highly doubt 40k's story is ever going "end", it will last as long as the product does. When the tabletop game inevitably goes out of business, the story will probably end with it and thus be unresolved. GW is never going to want to decisively end the fluff as there's always a chance they could milk the product some more.

The big issue now is will it become "Warhammer 41,000" in the 6th Edition. It basically has to, as all 5th edition Codex's fluff is hitting 999.M41

That was very Inteesting. I think it is one of the many possible outcomes but whose to say that will happen. If the Imperium did collapse humanity will likley slowley die out. I think somthing different will happen personally but that was very interesting. Oh, and as for the comment about LOTR Ring Wraiths are badass! I like Elves the best though.
