Hello,
after an attempt to create a Spartan chapter I decided to put that project aside and start a Black Templars Crusade. The reason is I couldn't reconcile with the idea of a shooting and tank driving Spartan army .
Actually I'm working on a Terminator Squad and a Land Raider Crusader.
This is my first Terminator, there ist still some Green Stuff work to do like the belt and a robe on the back. The front robe will be improved as I'm working bit by bit with Green Stuff.
I didn't want to wrap the hole chest with the robe, what do you think? Is it ok that way?
On the Land raider I first filled the holes with Putty and Green Stuff. The door sill panels were also removed and filled.
I would like to add much stuff to the LR like banners, maybe a big cross and so on. Maybe you have more ideas what could be added?
And a generally question about BTs. After what are Crusades named? I'm searchin for a suitable name for my Crusade.
Sorry that I don't write more but my english isn't that good so it would take too long for me to write a detailed report .
So long!

Hi,
today a small update of my project.
The muzzles were drilled using a 1mm driller and a roundhead mill.
The exhaust pipes were also drilled with 1mm.
Here you see a combination of Land Raider ramp and BT Rhino sidedoor. The Rhino door was cut out with a dremel and a roundsaw attachment.
Then I glued the parts together with epoxy resin glue on the backside after I had fixed them with superglue.
Hope you like it.
So long....

Solid conversions, great greenstuff-fu whats not to like. The robe on the terminator is particularly good, all in all looks like a start to a great looking army.

Thanks, I appreciate your comments.
Like I said I improved the front robe with more Green Stuff but I think the upper part is too thick. I'm thinking about building it from the ground up a bit thinner. The lower part is final and I'm pleasantly surprised how it looks cause it's my first robe.
Here are some other perspectives
And here you can see what I mean with too thick
What do you think?

Hi,
it's been a long time since I updated this thread, let me tell you why. When I started this thread our dog, a female french mastiff, was ill. She had problems with the balance while standing still and it became worse from day to day. After a long odyssey from vet. to vet. we received the diagnose that she had Gliomatosis Cerebri. It's a rare braintumor which affected her central nervous system. The symptoms started in January and on April 18th we had to let her go and put her to sleep.
I haven't worked on my project since my last post and started again two days ago. I'm feelin good again so you can expect updates more often
Here is my LRC
I have to say that the assembling was horrible, nothing seemed to fit together. The result was gap's everywhere which now have to be closed, especially in the front. I will do this with plastic sheet and green stuff as you can see in the first two pictures.
I also began to built a venerable dread from FW
The arms are from the GW dread, feet from FW MKIV-Ironclad, claws are FW too and the chains are from a Dragon 88mm Flak kit
Finally I want to present you my Helbrecht
When I bought him I already knew that he's gonna be beheaded and I mused what am I gonna put on his shoulders. I liked the style of the helmet from the marine in the BT Codex on page 9 and 12 so I decided to build a similar one.
I took a standard marine helmet and smoothed down the sides and front. Then i sculpted a rounded front with a slot as the visor. Finally I took a small cross from the FW BT etched brass set, cut it in half and glued it on the helmet.
The painting is just for practice and testing he's pure black again
I'm wait with painting cause I want to buy the whole Vallejo Game Color set in the case but I need money first and find a shop in the US which has good shipping conditions to germany. In german shops I found the cheapest set for 170€ (240$).
So long...

Always been a fan of the Black Templars, everything looks really good so far! The drilled barrels look ace, and the GS bathrobe looks very nice.
As for your landraider troubles, I had a similar experience - the top plate of my LRR was warped pretty bad. I had to straighten it out with a hairdryer and lots of rubber bands while the glue set! Doubly bad because I had no Greenstuff to fix it with :/
Anyways, best of luck with the crusade; I'll be watching intently.

Thanks guys!
Today I was in my local GW store to see the new (old) finecast models. As I expected the finecast models are not that "special" like GW announced them. Despite all that I had to get one Emperor's Champion and picked up the last one.
The way I see it there is more work to do to get a nice surface than on the normal plastic and tin models. On my EC the left side is ok, the right side is a bit deformed especially on the foot and hand. A bit from the sword above the cross-guard is broken.
The defects on the back aren't so bad for me cause I plan to sculpt a cloak for him instead of the a backpack, a bit helbrecht like
Update:
Here is my base cloak which now has to dry out so I can begin with GS layering.
Not the fastest way of sculpting, I know
This way for me it's easier to add bigger wrinkles without destroying the previous work.
So long...
