Comparing cost to point value, what are the best and worst things in 40K?
I think worst is a rhino. $40 or so for 50 points? Almost 1 dollar for 1 point.
Best: A few characters work out really well, but for a regiment....
Marines? 16 points but extra for guys with special weapons. They're $3 apiece or so?

The Nightbringer is roughly $0.10 per point. That's about as low as you'll get I think. He's why you can build a dirt cheap 1,000 point Necron army (add Monolith @$0.26 per point and two packs of Warriors).

If you buy a box of assault terminators and call one grimnar, and fully kit the other 4 for his retinue, you can get under 9 cents a point, I think.
The worst I could think of is the imperial guard vostroyan models. $17.25 for 15 points worth of guardsmen.

Couldn't the rhino body be used in a bunch of different ways? I know if you buy the hell hound kit you can use that single kit to make all of the variants (hell hound, devildog, and plague....wolf or something)

I think it's more the other way around. You can make a rhino from the razorback, Predator, and Vindicator boxes as they use the same basic shape.

Inquisitors are 25 points and about the same for the model from memory... but then war gear can remedy that.
