I just moved across the country and I'm looking for a semi-regular or good 40k pickup game. I'm in San Diego for another week or two then I'm in LA.

Good spots? Good games? Ideas?

In San Diego the only place with a decent gaming space is Game Empire in Kearny Mesa. It is right off the 805 and Clairemont Mesa Blvd. The place has a large amount of tables and and endless supply of terrain so it can be quite good. At the same time, since it is the biggest gaming space in San Diego, it is a magnet for the stinky and poorly mannered people of these hobbies so be prepared for that when you go.

As far as LA, if you are in south LA then you can go to the GW Battle Bunker in Westminster. It is still a bit of a drive from south LA but it shouldn't be any more then 30 miles or so. I'm sure there are other game stores up there but as a San Diego resident, I'm only acquainted with the Battle Bunker.
