played WH fantasy for years, now moving on to 40k, chose to roll with CSM * MY FIRST LIST*

please help me improve my list - open to comments and changes.

HQ
chaos lord
Khorne, pair of claws, Jump pack (attached to raptors)

TROOPS
5xCSM

5xCSM

ELITES
4xTerminators
Hvy flamer, 3x pairs of claws, 2x upg. to champions

FAST ATTACK
5x Raptors
Khorne,

HEAVY SUPPORT
Defiler

-the plan is to hit them hard and quick with the lord+raptors and the terminators while the small marine squads advance (or hold objectives) with the defiler.

These are easily eaten in such small bites. One of the Elite or Heavy choices ought to go to boost your troops to two fuller squads. And foot slogging in 5th Ed is generally bad. They need rhinos or turn them into plague marines who can survive a walk.

yeah, true that, so should i bolster the squads and put them in rhino's?

also, what should i drop - defiler or terminator squad?

You should drop the Terminators as they will be footslogging. There's also no way to deep strike them on the board without scatter (which you want as CSM) due to a lack of Icons. Dropping the squad will give you enough points to give both CSM squads Rhinos and some more bodies.

I disagree. Termies will have a longer life than a single Defiler. All the enemy anti-Tank will be on it and therefore, boom. One Shot.

Yes on the rhinos, and include 1 or 2 special weps, meltas or plasmaguns 7 to 8 guys each. Icons for the termies to Deep Strike (which I normally don't like, but feel it's okay at such a low point game and is good as they are h2h termies). Skip the Pfist/Champ ... unless you have the points.

hrm, yeah i can see the defiler copping some serious punishment

based off all your ideas guys im thinking about dropping the defiler ( i do have a soft spot for terminators, hehe)
get a rhino for each squad, add a member or two per squad and make shure one has an icon to assist the terminators. any remaining points will be spent on assault weapons.

sound like a decent plan fellas??

loving all your constructive feedback too lads!

Yeah if you use the icons then go for the terminators but if not just drop them.

we may be few, but even though we are near destruction. we the shadow wolves survive and move on to get our vengence on the tyrinids!

Do ya have the special wep bits (melta) for the Raptors? Otherwise, fun enough. Play it!

Echoing BrotherErekose question, do the raptors have any special weapons? If no, I'd suggest dropping them, since they are very frail for20 pts/model. If you gave them flamers or meltas they could be used as shocktroops, but atm they probably wont achive much.
If you choose to drop em, use the points to get your CSM squads to full strengh and give them both a icon.
