Ok, so playing the new Dark Eldar im a little fuzzy on this ruling.
A skimmer that moves flat out and is shot in the opposing players shooting phase can receive a cover save. But, if the skimmer moves flat out and is shot at and Immobilised, Wrecked or Exploded is blown up and the models disembark normal? or do they get out as normal?

If you move flat-out and are imobilized/destroyed in your own turn then the unit that is embarked is toast. If imobilized/destroyed in your opponents turn follow the normal rules for wrecked or explodes.

Yes, as its a cover save that is counted as obscured if shot at.

Wait....I thought that if you move flat out and get immobilized your turn or opponents turn ALL passengers are destroyed as well?

The way that the rule is written tells us that the passengers cannot disembark and are destroyed if the vehicle crashes after moving flat out in THAT movement phase. The rules say nothing about there being any penalty to the passengers on your opponents next turn no matter what happens to the vehicle. Or even if you somehow manage to crash the vehicle on you own turn but after the movement phase....

And yes, the rules do tell us that the cover save DOES extend into your opponents turn.

So the passengers tend to be safe so long as the vehicle stays out of nasty terrain or other unusual circumstances. Ramming with a load of passengers on board is probably also a bad idea.

Why does my eldar army run three fire prisms? Because the rules wont let me use four in (regular 40k).

BRB FAQ states that if the transport gets an immobilized result in the same turn, the people inside die. However, it also states in the BRB FAQ and on pg 9 of the BRB states that unless it specifically states game turn, any instance of the word turn refers to player turn. So if you flat out in your turn and immobilize in your turn, you are wrecked and the passengers die. After your turn, if you suffer an immobilized result, the transport still becomes a wreck, but the passengers are allowed to disembark as per the normal wrecked transport rules.

Dakkalance: BRB, Page 8, top of second column:"whenever a rule uses the word 'turn', both in this rulebook and in the Codexes, it means 'player turn', otherwise it will clearly state 'game turn'."

Most people assume that the new BRB FAQ "changes" the flat-out transport rule, but that is simply not the case; they have just been applying "Game turn" to the rule when they clearly should not have.

Sliggoth: You will also lose the unit in a fast transport moving flat out if it should have a "friendly" Blast marker scatter over it and get wrecked-destroyed(so immobilized, skimmer would count as well) during it's shooting phase; as the unit must disembark and "that movement phase"(meaning the same turn's movement phase) it had gone flat out(but again as it was a shooting attack that scattered on to it, you still get the 4+ cover save).

To all: remember a "Destroyed-Explodes" result during your own turn in which your fast Transport moved flat out will not instantly kill your unit. The unit never disembarks, and is just placed where the vehicle used to be after taking the relative Str hits(and attempting armor saves).

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

The FAQ disagrees with you Kel.

Q: If a transport vehicle is destroyed in the same turn as it
moved flat out what happens to any embarked models? (p70)
A: They are removed as casualties

Any destroyed result, during your own turn in which your fast Transport moved flat out, will force all embarked models to be 'removed as casualties'.

Most people assume that the new BRB FAQ "changes" the flat-out transport rule, but that is simply not the case; they have just been applying "Game turn" to the rule when they clearly should not have.

And even then not applying that correctly, because if I go 2nd my first turn I go flat out then you shoot me it is now Game Turn 2 (I went flat out in game turn 1) so it would mean going 2nd escapes you from the fate which kind of tells you all you need to know about that "interpretation"...
