So the title is the topic really, any paints/ paint combos that will give a good highlight to scab red?

Blood red on a 2:1 Scab to blood basis.
Fine highlights on a 1:1

Never pure blood red, They don't quite match. To be honest, it depends on the model, because I'm also inclined to recommend VGC Khaki on a 3:1 Scab to khaki basis.

Best advice is just to have a play.

Red gore? The next shade up is usually all you need.
