My unit: ccs, led by straken charged a unit of wraith guards led by a farseer. The eldar inflicted 2 wounds on me, my brave guardsmen did what they normally do in melee.. so 0 wounds done, but straken managed to inflict one wound on the farseer, and with str7 when charging, that ment ID to the farseer. Then we come to combat resolution. Did IG lose 2-1 or did IG win 3-2 as the Farseer did lose 1 wound, but still counts as losing 3 wounds because of ID?

Tried searching the forum for it, but nothing sensible came up. Sorry if this has been covered before.

Cheers

Ig won 3-2 because you removed 3 wounds. If the farseer only had 1 wound left at the start of the combat you would have lost 2-1. pg. 39 of the BRB under Determine Assault Results.

When calculating close combat results, actual wounds lost are counted. So you can "gain" wounds by ID or "lose" wounds by overkilling something.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Straken can ID a Farseer with his NORMAL S6, he doesn't need to charge to do it.
The only 'seer he can't ID is Eldrad (because Eldrad is T4 - old and crusty).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.
