hey all, i am new to painting and not very good at all, but I am trying to improve. I was wondering if anyone had any usefull tips on how to improve my brush control. I am painting black templar and dark eldar and having some trouble with edge highlights. I cant seem to get crisp lines that are the same width.

Edge highlights you need to remember:

1) Thin the paint so it goes on smooth. You don't want it to be raised / thick. This make getting it to look neat much, much harder.

2) Don't put too much on your brush - wick off excess onto a piece of tissue (not toilet roll). This stops it blobbing out.

3) Use the side of the brush on sharp edges, and the point on others. When doing that work slightly toward and along the edge from the larger side.

4) Don't worry if it's a bit wobbly, and make the first line a bit thicker than you need. You tidy it up later, either by using mixed colours (base/highlight in various proportions) to do a layer blend, or by simply using a slightly thinned mix of the base colour to tidy up any particularly wobbly bits.
