Ok this might be a bit odd, but what do the wings on the blood angel models represent as far as rules are concerned?

I am asking this, because I have acquired a few sets of angel wings that I want to put on some of my models, (maybe the Terminators). I wanted to put them on purely for decorations sake, but I don't want them interfering with the rules and WYSIWYG.

The closest rule I could find in the codex would be Descent of Angels, but since Blood Angels with Jump Packs get the rule I figured this would be inaccurate, unless of course the wings do the same as the jumppack.

If this is the case, then putting wings on my terminators would look out of place with the WYSIWYG rule.

Now I have also read up on the Librarian Psychic Power "Wings of Sanguinius" which makes two wings of psychic energy come out of his back and lets him move as if he had a jump pack.

So if the wings pretty much count as jump packs, then it would probably be unwise to model them on terminators right?

I may have answered my own questions though, but hopefully some of you can shed some light on this.

As far as I know the wings are purely decorative, so you can use them wherever you want. Some use them to represent that psychic power but BA are the type of guys to run around with massive, artistic wings on their armour, so don't worry about it.

Hmm, I seem to recall that yes, indeed, all units who comes with wings are jump infantry/have jump pack wargear.

Even the Sanguinor, rumored to be Sanguinious reincarnated, has a jump pack attached to his wings (I personally hated that idea and removed the jump pack and only have wings on mine). So yes, the wings are purely aesthetic.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Thanks for the replies. They kind of conflict though. I hope they are purely cosmetic, but if they are not, I could always say they are artistic like Trickstick said right?

The Sanguinary guard have jump packs too don't they? So really the only WYSIWYG issue would be if I decided to model the Psychic Power wings on the Librarian right? Even still, that would be aesthetic since I don't have to model the psychic powers right?
