Hello all

motivated by all the new Eldar releases from Forgeworld im thinking about starting with Eldar.

The problem is, that i dont want to do one of the regular Craftworlds.
At the moment only the painting style I want to do them is is existent and that the craftworld (or corsairs maybe?) should have a wide array of vehicles at their disposal. The craftworld paints their tanks and titans with nebulas and other objects that reminds them of how beautiful the natural universe is (outside the foul influence of Slaanesh and Chaos).

So they remind themselves through the decoration of all their vehicles and space ships, why they still resist and fight on even if it seems hopeless.

Do you think that this is a good basis for a diy Craftworld?

I'm also very unsure about the name... is there any good source for Eldar language?
It should represent purity and the universe as a whole (in a way )...

I hope you can help me a little with my questions, because i dont want to start with miniatures before the fluff framework is done .

If you are going vehicle heavy, a corsair army would be very fluffy. They have a tendency to be very mobile, though I do not know if titans would be very appropriate. I would think that as corsairs often operate as soldiers of fortune, they would have the necessairy resources to build titans of their own, or do scouting/recon/defense work for a craftworld in exchange for them. The celestial paint job would also lend itself to a corsair army as they tend to explore a lot more than craftworld Eldar. It would almost serve as camouflage
This would also be a good framework for a DIY craftworld, but what you have so far kind of speaks corsair to me. I may be biased though, I always thought corsairs were cooler...

There are also a lot of very poorly defined craftworlds that simply have a name and thats all.

They could be used to fit whatever fluff you would like other have tiny bits of fluff that could be seen as a foundation for you to build on.

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Eldar is an awesome place to do your research.

Fluff is evil to create. For a craftworld you have to think of their influence on the universe. what their main objective is, i.e. cosairs=money, rangers=thrill of adventure. Basic color schemes, nebulas would fit a dark base well and add bright accent colors to that to match the galactic formations. Vehicle heavy is not a way the craftworld eldar go, maybe a planet bound group. The possibilities are endless...
