I've only had my steam account for a few weeks, and I'm going to get Mass Effect 2 soon (Already got it for the xbox, I just want it for PC), but I want all the DLC, so I'm wondering where the hell you find dlc to download on steam. I've looked all over and it's frustrating the crap out of me . Do I have to download the game first for it to give me the option to get DLC or what?

Doesn't look like Steam has the DLC yet.
If Steam has the DLC it will be right under the purchase for the game.

Then where can I get the ME2 DLC? Can I still add it on to the steam game once I download it? And WTF steam should have that DLC seeing as how popular a game ME2 is. That's just downright stupid.

ME2's DLC is not on steam. For both DAO and ME2 (and DA2 apparently I haven't look here in ages), you have to go straight to EA/Bioware. It's easy. Log into your account (the one you had to make to play the game anyway) at Bioware's social network site. Then go to your profile on the left hand side and then to your registered game content. Just download and run. They install themselves.
EDIT: You can save the files if you want. I have a folder in downloads called DLC and I stick the items in there organized by game. That way you can keep them around if you have to reinstall your game.

Sometimes it takes Steam longer to get the DLC. You can get ME2 now and will probably be able to get the DLC down the road. You will, of course, have to buy the DLC of Steam, though.
I'm pretty sure the DLC takes longer to get to Steam, because Microsoft has an agreement with developers. Or maybe not, I'm really not sure. It took months for FO:New Vegas to get its DLC.

Steam just doesn't seem to get DLC for Bioware games. I figure EA is cutting out the middle man. Wants to keep all the $$$ for themselves. Make you waste money on their EA points, which are never equal to whatever DLC you want to get so you end up with like 100 points left over -.-
EA seems to get an exception for Microsofts DLC rules for Bioware games. ME2 content was released at the same time for both 360 and PC. Don't know why. They probably have some special deal.

So I'd be better off just getting the ME2 disc version so I could get the DLC? If I download ME2 from steam there is no way to get the DLC at all? If I download the DLC from bioware will it still work with the steam version?

I doubt it Galactic. Steam is a classy girl, but she ain't that classy.
But, I'm not entirely sure either. To be safe you would probably be better off going through EA.

No no no. The DLC works fine if you buy off steam. Don't worry. Since you have to make an account to play the game and log into it, they register the CD-key for your game automatically registered to your bioware account. Just download and install the items.
Not all Steam games require that the DLC come from steam. I don't know how many actually do, but ME2 is not one of them. The game can come from steam and the DLC can come from the EA. It's not a problem.

Alright, good, so it just prompts me to make an account when I start the game, then when I do, I can go over to bioware and get the DLC, and it will work automatically with no weird file moving or anything?
(I am completely new to PC gaming)

Yes. It's EA's new DRM system. They run a CD-key check at start up when you log into your account. The DLC items just need to be downloaded and run. They will install themselves in their proper place.
