I've never played orks before, and I just picked up the codex today and read through it because my girlfriend wants to try them. Sooo, here is a list I came up with to combat my SM and IG.

HQ
Big Mek - 110
-PK
-KFF

TROOPS
25 Boyz Mob - 190
-Nob w/ PK and BP

25 Boyz Mob - 190
-Nob w/ PK and BP

FAST
5 Warbikers - 165
-Nob w/ PK and BP

3 Deffkoptas - 205
-TL rokkits
-Buzzsaws

ELITES
Nobz x 5 - 145
-BP
-PK
-Waaagh! Banner

TOTAL: 1005 pts

I think its a fairly versatile army. Solid mobz, versatile bikers for anti-infantry or anti-armor, plenty more anti-tank from the koptas. Nobz will bring the pain. I'll run the Big mek with the boyz, giving them the cover save. I'm sad I couldn't fit more armor in, but what do yall think? It's 1005 pts, but its just me and my gf, so I'm not too worried.

You're off to a good start, but I don't think burna's can take a trukk as a dedicated transport (or any other vehicle for that matter). I think you'd have to take a unit of boys and have them swap out of it or take a wagon for a heavy choice.

Also, a single dred won't do you much good. it will be left behind and picked off with ease. An important aspect of any ork army is to keep it together. Attack as a group not in waves. You have a trukk, bikers, foot sloggers, koptas and walkers all going at a different rate so it will be easy to take out each unit one by one. Go all or nothing for orks. Have a look around the forum and you will notice ork themed lists like kan wall, BW rush, green tide and speed freaks.

Drop the Burnas boyz they 2.5 times more then boyz and will never make it to melee and even if and i mean IF they do make it I3 power weapons don't do much with 6+ sv. Take Loota boyz there like 10x better same pts

Drop the bikes there 25pts each and run from a fight faster then kroot.

Big Mek with a SAG that will be good for lols. i personly don't like them but i have seen a SAG win the Game turn 2
7 Chaos Terminators, Abaddon and a Daemon Princes all in 1 shot

all ur base are belong to da

all the armies i used to beat b4 6ed

I kinda wanna keep the koptas/bikers for maneuver and anti-tank, plus the boys will be running, so will mostly stay up with them protected by the KFF. I'm thinking of swapping the dread/burnas/trukk for 5 kommandos w/ 2 burnas, led by Boss Snikrot

Keep in mind there are only 4 burna and loota guns in each loota box. So grab 4 of them this will give you 16 Lootas which you can run in 3 groups of 5, then you will also have enough bitz to convert a boyz box into 15 burnas to stick into a battle wagon when you get up in points. Having said that

KFF is a good choice
Wierdboy or more specifically a Warp Head would be a lot of fun especially in a 30 strong mob of shootas in friendly low point games.
Shootas are better then sluggas for being on foot
Koptas are better split into units of 1, buzzsaws are also a good option.
Deff Dreds are OK but work better as a last point choice in a higher point game in a kan wall style army, generally kans will do what they can do cheaper with better shooting.
Boss Poles are a must have on your Nobz.
Trukks are substandard and if taken are better taken in multiples with some more appealing targets like Battle Wagons in the mix, preferable with KFF big meks giving your trukks cover saves

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

I figured I wouldn't need Bosspoles on the boyz mobz because of Mob Rule... Also, the plan is to start a proper Waaagh! on turn 2, and get everyone to the enemy's lines that turn

Bosspoles are essential as was already stated. Even if you think you don't need them, you'll be mad at yourself when your mob runs off the board without the second try afforded by the BP. Another thing. I may be wrong but it looks like the boyz squads are illegal. It is my understanding you need 30 boyz to take 3 special weapons. IMO they should be dropped anyway as you want to run your boyz so thats far less shooting than the special weapons would warrant spending points on

Just my 2 cents

Kommandos are not really worth their points, because they are basically boyz except three times more expensive.
the nice thing about them is you can roll them in from any table edge from reserves using snikrot.
I recommend you allocate those points somewhere else, but thats just me.

Saw that. So, no more big shootas, BPs on everything, and some Nobz put in to bring some more hurt. 5 points over 1k, but its just me and my gf, so I don't care.
