The contingency of "IF" in "Thawn does not award kill points to the enemy if he is alive on the battlefield at the end of the game regardless how many times he was killed" on the last paragraph on page 43 of the new GK codex makes me believe that if he is infact dead at the end of the game, he will award the enemy the number of kill points equal to the number of times he has been killed.

Is this true?

You get one KP for each unit you destroyed

Thawn is one unit. One KP, max

The part about "Thawn does not award kill points to the enemy if he is alive on the battlefield at the end of the game regardless how many times he was killed" is just reminder text. It doesn't actually have any effect on the rules, because this rule is already covered in the BGB.

You only determine the Kill Points at the end of the game, and are only instructed to check on a unit being destroyed or not at that point.

So, all you really care about it whether or not Thawn's unit (Thawn) is destroyed or not at the end of the game. If he is, you get 1KP. If he isn't, no KP. What happened during the course of the game has no bearing on this result. It works just like WBB or Yarrick.

Thawn is also an Upgrade Character.

1) Thawn dies once and separated from his squad. His squad dies but he is alive at the end of the game. How many KP?
(since the original squad still has one member alive do you get no KP or 1 KP)

2) Thawn dies once and stays dead. The rest of his squad is alive. Do you get any KP?
(I would say no here as you have killed one guy out of a unit, but I could be wrong)

3) Thawn dies, Comes back to life as a separate unit then dies again and stays dead. The original unit is still alive. How many KP?
(Again since he is an upgrade character to start does he count as a separate unit for KP after he comes back to life?)

4) Thawn dies and comes back to life several times. He is dead at the end of the game. How Many KP?
(I would say that you get one for each death, just like the "send in the next wave" for conscripts)

====================================

The crux of this matter is when does Thawn become a separate unit from the Terminators he was purchased with?

When he dies the first time?

When he gets up the first time?

Every time he gets up?

The answer for this question is clearly stated in the Codex, he becomes separate from the Terminators when he resurrects. If he awards multiple killpoints for dying multiple times is anyone's guess though...

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.
