I would need to see the rest of your list to see what would fit with it.

It's a GT list so I don't wanna post it but I am looking for more anti meq and infantry I'm leaning towards the demolishers or the medusas I think

The basilisks are nice but I want the extra armor of the demolishers and stronger gun or the range and strength of the medusa + extra tank killing power

Diligently behind a rifle...

Demolishers, the Medusa is a great armor killer, but it's got wimpy armor plus open topped, and can't move & fire it's main gun.

I wouldn't worry about disclosing your list, it smacks that you lack confidence in it.

Demolishers are the way I am going then

Demolishers can go up to 12" with lumbering behemoth and fire the main gun right? If that's true they might be the best option anyway shorter range but can still move and shoot

6" with lumbering behemoth. They're a fast-slow vehicle. You can move up to 6" and fire the main gun and another gun. If you go further, you have to roll a D6 to see how far and you can't shoot anything.

I don't play IG but demolishers are better on paper.

If you want anti-MEQ/anti-Infantry, I'd say go with the Basilisks. Demolishers work better at anti-tank work, and still we need to see your list. If you're a firing line Guard, sending a bunch of Demolishers forward to engage the enemy at clsoe range is going to be suicide for them. The Guard need to work in cohesion with all their elements (unless you have Marbo, then send him to kill whatever wherever).

And yes, lumbering behemoth is move 6" fire main gun + one other weapon + defensive weapons, d6" further with no weapons. So your Demolishers will be moving 6" if they want to fire their cannon, and a random distance if they don't.

Well this post was to see what people preferred not to go with my list I ment to say that in my first post but forgot to put it up. Ironically I've already decided that I will be runing a manticore and a vet squad in a chimera instead of any of the OP ideas. So ya...

I'm gonna try out the list with demolishers and the way I have it now with the manticore to see what does better 3 full games with each against the same list

It is really hard to make recommendations with out knowing the points level and what else is in your list.

My heavy support choices were 2 Manticores and 2 Hydras.

Manticores are better offensively then the Russ family because of the d3 strength 10 large templates make them good versus vehicles as well as infantry. With so much cover saves in 5th edition the ap4 doesn't really hurt that much. Manticores can hide behind buildings out of sight and fire indirect. Limited ammo 4 doesn't hurt so much with games sometimes lasting only 5 turns and you might have had night fighting for turn 1. On average you get 8 templates to a single shot weapons 5-6

Hydras are just cheap anti light vehicle which you see lots of with rhinos and razorbacks. They also don't do too badly at shooting small backfield squads like Long Fangs and lootas with the addition of a heavy bolter.

If your going to insist on taking Demolishers you just want a hull heavy flamer. Heavy bolters allow the opponent to stack your ap2 wounds and Demolishers need to keep moving to either get in range or stay out of range of meltas so you don't want to buy sponsons you can't get full use of most of the time. Creed with outflanking Demolishers is pretty fun since it solves the main problem with the demolisher that it is short ranged.

Basilisks just aren't worth it being single shot and having the open topped vulnerability. Manticores are just better because of possibility of more shots and strength 10 is better versus vehicles. AP3 isn't very good when the opponent probably has a cover save.

Medusas are really vulnerable being open toped and direct fire with range 36. Your better off taking a Demolisher. The bastion breacher shells are too narrow being only good versus vehicles. Single small blast isn't too good versus infantry.
