Howdy, was wondering if this exist.

Going to be basing my chaos 40k army on bases that are grass/mud/blood puddle mix.

I'm looking at doing bases similar to a grass field, but after two or three days of rain so spots on the bases will be muddy and after a day of fighting so some bases have puddles of blood.

What Ive been having trouble finding is grass that is like grass and sticks up not static grass that's a green mess.

I will be using water effects for the mud so i could stick it in and get a seal hopefully.

Preferably some grass options varying from 1/2 an inch to about 1/4 or 1/8 inch.

Almost like a savannah grass or over grown grass?

Or if anyone has any pictures or links to bases like ive said would be great.

Thanks in advances

For long grass, you could cut the bristles off of a cheap brush.

They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mold them, And in the furnace of war I shall forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armor shall I clad them, and with the mightiest of guns will they be armed. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

a friend of mine said he does standing up by using static electricity. he basically applies grass to the glue and then takes a balloon previously rubbed on the carpet and holds it over the grass. the static pulls some off that aren't completely in the glue but makes the rest upright. i haven't tried this myself nor seen him actually doing it but the end product looked quite nice.

I've also had great results with keyboard duster. I put the glue on the base, dunk the base in static grass, then spray the base with duster to angle the grass in the direction I want.

They sell static grass applicators for model train layouts that apply a static charge to the grass, then blow it out onto the waiting glue. They also cost an arm and a leg. While both the static and the blowing together are ideal, one or the other is sufficient for most people. Actually, this is the first I've heard of using a balloon for static charge. Most people just apply glue, sprinkle on/dunk in grass, tap off the excess, then blow on it a bit to get bits to stand up.

The noch one is rather simple.

It's a simple plastic bottle with a nozzle and you shake it up a few times, take the lid off and puff it a few times to get the grass where the glue is.

The shakes rub the grass fibres against each other and get the static charge buildup that way.

The empty 'applicator' can also be got in the 'terrain starter' pack, which comes with a pack of grass, a pack of flock, a pack of small stone ballast, some concrete paste (mix with water, paint onto surface. Looks like concrete.) as well as 10 or so trees for around twice the price of a single tub of GW grass).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

The barrel of a (plastic) pen (or similar) rubbed against a sweater will gain enough of a charge to raise static grass.

Of course, if your significant other happens to be wearing the sweater at the time it adds a certain frisson as well.

Maybe the grass won't be the only thing standing up!
