So lets contemplate of ourselves as in 40k. Since we here in real life are all human you must be of human origin. So if you were to design yourself as a 40k Model and place yourself as a character in the world. Where would you be? Here is a good example of what I mean.

Fluff / 40k World: Two parents of a small infant were part of a large human crew being transported to a new planet near where fenris would be. This is of course near the end of its journy. It become under attack by Tyranids. The crew and marines had fought quite hard but most of the crew had succumbed and it had to pull out of the warp. It was just outside of fenris and with the dying actions of one of the crew members. A distress signal was placed out and with luck would happen fenris was within view of the ship and quite large. They were within a few hundred thousand miles.

The Human crew was obliterated except the parents of the child and the child himself. Alas the parents too were cut down. Barely clinging to life and desperate to save their kid. That is when the Captain of the space hulk had busted through the large doors and his team had shot down the tyrannizes in the room. About an hour (earth time) A large team of wolves appeared with a large space vessel
(smaller space hulk basically) Boarded and assisted in the irradiation of the nids. Clinging to the child before the mother died she begged them to protect the child and bring him somewhere safe.

The Space wolf lord Voluun Gunaar whom was present at the time. Looked at them and agreed. "While Fenris is a cold and harsh place, There is still much safety with us around. After he grows a little older and stronger against the elements I will guard him. Until than, I am sure he will be well protected by the others."

Years later that is exactly what happened. The boy at the age of 10 agreed and was but a week normal space journey to arrive at fenris. Here he would be placed under the guidence of Iron Priests in assisting with vehicle repairs and gun repairs.

Game Wise:

Army: Space Wolves
Jesse Chenoweth - Can be added to any space wolf unit choice for 3 points or for 60 points. Can be selected as a Elite choice.
UNIQUE
BS:2 WS: 4 S:1 T:1 I: 5 W:1 A: 2 LD: 5 SV: -

Squirmy little runt: While he is no where near suited for combat, He holds no real military Training, by human standards is very skinny and fragile. He is very quick and great at moving around and often times out of pure luck can dodge seemingly impossible objects flying at him. To represent this all successful hits in close combat against Jesse must be rerolled.

Coward: He is a weak boy...lets face it, Just not the bravest little one. Jesse Automatically fails all Leader ship tests if not accompanied by any other model

Stealthy:
Jesse loves to play hide and seek and loves to be all stealthy. After all he is no warrior for sure! Because of this he will often take anything he can find lying around and fashion it into camo. Often going to ground and sneaking around. If Jesse is by himself. All models attempting to fire at jesse must follow the night fighting rules. This also confers the Stealth Rule to Jesse.

Tech marine at heart: If Jesse is in base to base contact with a damaged vehicle. He may roll a a D6. On a 4+ he can negate immobilized. Repair up to two weapons or Negate a crew shaken or stunned.

Burrow and Borrow: - A most humorous thing that Jesse finds appealing that is if he penetrates the armor on any non skimmer tank. He will use his Ghost Lance Claws to tear a part a hole and burrow into the machine. Rewiring the machine Taking out controls etc. During the opponents next turn. You may control the movement and Firing phase of that tank. If it is a transport or has models inside they may not disembark. During the Assault phase Jesse Exits the machine anywhere around the tank and the tank is considered Immobilized.

War Gear:
Ghost Lance Gauntlets

Ghost Lance is a very special kind of claw like gauntlet that Jesse Created himself. It is unlike anything else ever seen and all attempts to be made into a much larger and more sturdy version for Space marine use has failed due to the nature of its design.

The gauntlets are leather base with machine mounted into them so they are very comfy! They have a bone like structure design to make look like a metal human skeletal hand over the gloves underneath. They emit a powerful force of plasma and electrical energies around them to form a small and slender "force claws". They emit no heat but the energy is so intense that despite Jesses Inferior Muscle power. With using only a little effort the claws can easily puncture, Tear and melt off anything they touch. Amazingly enough they can flux and have an impressive I.A. So when Jesse opens or closes his hands the power behind them will auto adjust within less than a millionth of a second so that they do not cause him any harm. To others looking at them they appear to be Transparent and Ghostly white/blue slender claws. Like a Daemons claws.

This confers the following - Will hit in close combat on a 3+. Against units, Ignores both armor and Invulnerable saves.
Allows a 5d6 Armor Penetration against Vehicles and adds +1 to the damage table. Cannot go past 6.

Some say Jesse is so squirmy and lucky that once a Wolf lord known for his bad temper lost it against Jesse. He attempted to strick with his lightning claw and Jesse out of pure instinct lept through the large gaps inbetween the claws, An amazing feat never even heard of and only burning almost all his clothes, parts of his skin and hair.

Than when the lord tried to use the thunder hammer of his. Jesse rolled out of the way just in time for the hammer to strike. Splitting the ground and send him flying upward to a a second level in the building they were in. Where he stood up a few seconds later. Body almost in shock as he made a get away. The Lord could only stand there in disbelief as he ran away.

I have to think this through, but do you mean if we put our selves in as our normal selves, or what we'd want to be?

Like. How you would imagine yourself if you grew up in the 40k world? Keeping your personality intact.

You see for myself. I like to have a little fun, I like to fiddle with things. So becoming a human tech priest servant would be something I would do probably somehow ending up doing.
The whole SW fluff thing is just what I would wish to see myself within the 40k world. Even though Tau are pretty awesome. SW fluff is the most interesting.

I like to hide and I am skinny and stealthy so I worked that into there as well but since it still leaves room for the fantasy element. There are some things about the character that could never happen if I was "completely" me. After all in order to make something as neat as Ghost Lance. That character is much smarter than me.

I'd have dedicated myself to Slaanesh so fully that I'd be reincarnated as a Daemon Prince of Slaanesh. I can't really say why as this is a family friendly forum and I've already said some things probably worthy of being banned, and this would definitely go over the line

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Actually I already made my character of me. His name is Malnar...
And he is a badass..

Malnar
Malnar is a very important character within the Storm Crusaders, he is a pysker of unprecendented abilities, and one of the few suriviving members of the Original Dusk Legion. (The Storm Crusaders First Name). He has returned after being frozen in stasis by accident on the remote system of Merainis (SPOILER). Where he was trapped for 9,000 years in stasis. Ever since being released from his prison he has forgotten all of the wars he has been in 9,000 years ago. He has not aged a day since his stasis, and hence he is still only 400 years old. (So this way he is not counted as the oldest space marine ever, because in stasis time stops.)
Malnar has since lead the Storm Crusaders to victory after victory. He is one of the sole few who has been promoted to the rank of Arch Templar of the Storm Crusaders. His power over all the successors is unprecendented by any other astrates within the chapter. (Maybe that of calnor and the entire Chapter council.)
Malnar though is wise to leave the chapter with its own devices while he hunts for the fallen of the chapter. He has also believed not actually to be Malnar but instead a pysker of the chapter who had gained his memories. (Theory)
Apart from that is all I have written about him.

Either that Or I am Malickith my Chief Liby who really likes to make jokes about everyone else in the chapter, then give commentaries on other officers, then steal other peoples kills XD Yeah he was a fun character to write.

Devon the branded.

Devon was a well off civilians with a large amount knowledge and wisdom, being to find the right choice for every difficulty.he had alway wanted to do good in a world of evil, but, like all civilians, had little to no power to change his world, and change was what Tzeentch could offer. He believed that he could make a deal with Tzeentch and tried to beat him at his own game. Tzeentch granted him the great abilities including the ability to conjure great fire storms and iron-like skin, and for a while Devon thought he had got away with his scheme to use for good, but he had greatly underestimated the god of trickery. Devon, for all intentions of good, began to cause more harm than help at Tzeentch's great amusement. when Devon confronted Tzeentch, his immunity to his own power was taken, put into a constant state of burning agony, causing insanity and a warped sense of justice. devon vows to have revenge against Tzeentch, continuing to try and to do some good and out wit Tzeentch. Tzeentch allows this, finding great entertainment in this constant fight to this day.

Don't know gamewise, other than alot of fire and magic powers and high toughness and high armor save.

Here's a visual.

Okay here goes.

Fluff/40k World: Cadia had increased its tithe again. The 13th black crusade had taken a heavy toll on the Imperial Guard ranks on the world. Now, boys as young as 13 were being inducted. The boys were given a crash course, then sent to the front lines.

During a particular skirmish against the forces of chaos, a wave of cultists and a small number of Chaos Marines battled with an imperial trench line. The commissar ordered a charge, and lead them into battle, his plasma pistol raised. The charge was successful at first, ruby red las shots cutting down the heretical cultists, but when the chaos marines fought back, the charge faltered, and the commissar was killed. A boy, no older than 16, hiding behind a log, a look of grim defiance on his face, saw this. He saw the ornate plasma pistol fall to the ground, a wooden pistol grip and a golden Imperial Aquila adorning its ancient frame. As the guardsmen around him fell to the guns of the chaos, their numbers growing thin, the boy lunged for the fallen plasma pistol, sitting in the mud. He swept it up and pointed it in the direction of the nearest marines chest, and squeezed the trigger. A searing blue light burst from the chamber, and blast a hole straight through the chaos marine, the plasma bolt travelling straight through and off into the sky. The marine crumpled, and the boy gained courage. He pointed it at the next chaos marine, who had realized and started firing bolter rounds at him. Flecks of wood and dirt kicked up around the boys head, but his aim was true, and a second plasma bolt was fired, blasting the helmet of the chaos marine into molten metal.

By now, the second wave of troops had arrived, and the chaos were falling back as heavy weapons teams fired upon them. As they ran past, guardsmen cheered the boy on.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
On a completely different note, I am currently starting a battle report from the perspective of my Grey Knight Grand Master, who, for all intents and purposes, is based on myself.

I didnt write any fluff for him because there is such little hope of me becoming a grey knight that most would just sneer. He is armed with a Nemesis Force Halberd and a number of other goodies, and is wearing terminator armour (obviously)

If he dies during any of the battle reports, I will write up his last thoughts, which will be something along the lines of ( I dont know if it should be in first or third person):

"I watched as we were surrounded by daemons, a circle of dead around the last vestige of resistance my squad held. I knew there was no escape, no means of support, but I accepted my fate. If I was to die today, then by The Emperor, I would make them pay for in blood, as was The Emperors currency. I raised my halberd, Firing my storm bolter into the swirling daemons, and shouted "Into the fray! CHARRGE!"
I lunged, halberd lowered, into the daemons, swinging left and right with a double handed grip. My Brothers followed me. The daemons were everywhere. I threw my Halberd at a blood letter, skewering it, then ripped out my sword, stabbed it into a daemon and slashed in a wide arc, cutting daemons in half as I went. A bloodletter lunged at me, I tried to deflect the blow, but was too late, its sword tearing through my armour and into my stomach. My vision blurred, but I would not succumb. I raised my sword and roared, slicing from it shoulder to hip. I fell to the ground as another stabbed me from behind. Lying on my side, I raised my storm bolter at the at the daemons around me, blasting them to pieces with the blessed psybolts loaded in my last clip, claiming an ever higher tally of those damned infernal souls. I watched as Brother Dion fell to his knees, with courage in his heart and the emperors light in his eyes. Brother Agrippa was still standing, on top of a dead daemon swinging his nemesis sword at the daemons around him. Brother Julius sent a last burst of purifying flame with his incinerator through the daemons as he was dragged down.

A third blood letter raised its hellblade in a position to pierce my chest plate, I spat a litany of hate through my blood filled mouth as I pulled the pins on my frag grenades at my belt. The blade came down.

Then Silence.

If i was to be anyone in the 40K universe, I'd probably be an Eldar something. Not sure what. On the path to self discipline, control of emotions and the mind. Not really the violent murder of millions of lifes to endure my own, but you get the drift.

Is it an ideal character,or just me as I am right now?

My ideal character.
Lord Augustus of the Emperors Children.
A captain to one of Fulgrims Grand Companies before the Heresy. Driven by devotion to his Primarch greater than his loyalty to The Emperor.

Weapons and armour: Artificer Armour (Moulded to his body shape, like the Sanguinor)

Silver Victory,Master-crafted Relic blade.
Mark of Slaanesh.
A petty face, and long white hair to die for.

But if it's just me.

Lt Melkhior

Weapons: Power sabre,bolt pistol,carapace armour.

Special Rules:
"HALT,My boots have mud on them"
Such is his acustom to the comfortable lifestyle under his Fathers hard won battles Melkhior has very little experience in the great outdoors,Lt Melkhior may not enter difficult terrain.

"It worked for Alexandyr didn't it"
Lt Melkhiors only military training consisted of reading highly romantised historic documents, and longs to join great heros of legend. Therefore must pass a leadership test or charge towards the nearest enemy in a sad pursuit of glory.

"At least he's a good man,and I'm damn glad of that"
Lt Melkhior values each and every man in his platoon, mostly because he doesn't want to loose what little friends he has,and puts the well being of each man before his own. Any squad under his command will passs any moral tests that they may face.

I'm still working on a few of the details, so cut me a bit of slack

Captain Graveline (pronounced Grav-lin, not Grave-line ... frag it, might just change the spelling)
btw guys, still looking for a first name that sticks well ... any suggestions are much appreciated! lol

Points Cost: 45pts

WS4 BS4 S3 T3 W3 A3 I4 Ld10 Sv4+ & 4+*

Wargear: Rosarius (15), Confessor Bolt Pistol (10), Power Sword (10), Carapace Armour (4)

Born on the Imperial world of Victoria on Eastern Fringe of the galaxy, Graveline was always devout to Immortal Emperor of Mankind. He was found by his family and peers to be a skilled tactician. As he grew older so did his confidence and he soon became a leader of men, compassionate but both ruthless and efficient.

The Imperium had become worried about the false Tau Empire's continual advance into Imperial space, and ordered an immediate increase in Victoria's tithe rate. It was rare for Victoria to bring fighting women into the Imperial Guard (normally they worked in the factories or were recruited by Victoria's resident Order of Adepta Seroritas), so to fulfill the tax, the age for recruitment into the PDF was reduced to 16 so that more PDF soldiers could be inducted into the Guard.

Graveline was inducted into the 52nd Victorian Regiment of the Imperial Guard at the age of 21, quickly showing his devotion in acts of valour against the Tau, and his hatred against various rebel and Chaos uprisings in the Sectors he was sent to. He quickly rose through the ranks, leading his men to victory after victory against many impossible odds with his tactical abilities and his unwavering belief in the Emperor. He is now the Captain of the 52nd Victorian Regiment. As their Captain, Graveline is known for inspiring his men in times of their greatest need, but if needed he can and will execute them with a clean shot from his bolt pistol. Graveline's son serving in the 52nd Victorian Regiment as a Lieutenant, and his twin daughters are serving in the Adepta Seroritas Order of the Mourning Star.

Rules:
Absolute Devotion: Captain Graveline has such a powerful belief in the Emperor that simply by his own force of will, bolts seem to graze by him, never quite hitting him. He can take hits that would kill normal men and continue to advance unscathed. This man's devotion seems to warp the world around him because the Emperor truly protects -- and it's thought that the Rosarius he carries helps too. This grants him a 4+ Invulnerable Save.

Doubt is for the Dying: Cowardice is not looked kindly upon in the eyes of the Emperor. And what inspires cowardice? Doubt. Doubt in yourself, your commander, your Emperor and therefore, doubt in life itself. While known for inspiring his men, Graveline will not hesitate to punish his own for acts of doubt -- which, depending on the day, can be a very broad term. Graveline's Confessor Bolt Pistol counts as a plasma pistol for all intents and purposes (because the enemy obviously doubts their own existence).

Too be fair, we'd all probably end up as a hab-wroker, or maybe drafted into the Guard. However, if we're using the 'rule of cool' and exaggerating our personal traits...

Army: Chaos Space Marines.
WS: 5
BS: 4
S: 4
T: 4
W: 2
I: 4
A: 3
LD: 3
SV: 3+
PTS: 200
Wargear: Endlessly tinkered with Power armour, Power sword, Hand Flamer, Melta bombs, Grenades of the Krak and Frag flavours.
Special rules: Pyromaniacal-Faunt has a love of fire and the noble art of burning things that goes slightly beyond the purely proffesional. All flamers, Heavy Flamers and Melta weapons in his army are twin-linked.
Consumed by bitterness: When he is in danger, all the bitterness and anger that Faunt feels manifest in a truly terrifying bloodlust. If he is ever reduced to 1 wound, then his leadership is increased to 10, and he gains the Fearless, Furious charge and Rage special rules.
