I had a idea for a weird conversion for a Chaos Space Marine Lord, I take one of the chaos space marine lords models and mount it on the forge world Fire dragon model. Its just a idea but I think it would look kinda cool

What are you going to use the conversion for? Also, are you going to chop the legs off and use biker legs? How are you planning to do it? A rough gameplan will help us answer your question better

I was going to chop its legs off and use the biker legs and then use green stuff to make the Dragon look more chaos mutauted. I was thinking either make it a Khorne dragon or a nurgle dragon.

Sounds cool, but are you using it for fantasy or 40k? What I meant before was...what unit can it count as? I suppose if you wanted it to count as a daemon prince (albeit a very large one) you could, or a tank of some kind, but sadly there don't seem to be many options in the CSM book to do a conversion like that justice. If you removed his bolter though and gave him a shield or additional hand weapon though and made him for fantasy...that would sound fantastic.

Well I think it would be a chaos lord but..let me get my codex quick (Gets my codex and looks it up)

Ah I found it! It would count as a Daemonic steed

The main problem you're going to run into is size. While it's fine making it count as a Chaos Lord on a Daemonic Steed, normal 40k is simply not designed to handle something that big for a lone HQ choice.

Well I was not really planing to field it, it was going to be more something fun to do and not really use it for my army

Unless you're really good with green stuff, I wouldn't try it on such a big, expensive model. Start smaller.

I can see where you going at this..This is just a project I would like to do but I would most likely not do it. Still its a cool idea

It would be very awesome, make it all undead looking with guts hanging out and pus pouring out of nasty holes in its hide.

It's always nice to have such an addition to your army when it has got all essentials and extra options already.

If you come up with some custom rules that aren't to OP you should even be able to field it when playing with friends. (I know I would allow it ^^, aslong as I can bring in something of equal power )

The dragon is pretty huge, so it might be better to field it in an apocalypse match/campaign.

If you are gonna shell out the big bucks for a dragon, at least get the forgeworld Chaos Dragon. It's one of the best models ever.
