Noice. We're just getting closer and closer to Bolters.

4 round capacity, looking to move it to 10!

They just need to do something about that finish...

That'll do the trick.

What are the chances of acid rounds?

Oh, so it launches something basically the size of a heavy bolter round.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

It looks more bolter scale to me, but the weapons scale in 40k is all over the place.

Power wise it looks devastating against static targets who stand in windows like some sort of cardboard man. I'd like to see one used in a firefight; the recoil alone makes it seem like it'd be quite unwieldy to use in a pressured situation where you have to basically move or die with little time to aim.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

It's designed primarily for urban combat and it's bulk isn't really inferior to more standard multiple grenade launchers.

Basically it is a kind of high tech grenade launcher. It's a support weapon.

You wouldn't arm an entire squad with these things. Most of the soldiers will still carry rifles and so on.

Don't we already have grenade launchers? Why do we need this one?

Range, accuracy, ease of use, effectiveness, and comparative ammo load. Parabolic grenade launchers are awful at striking people inside of buildings and directly behind cover because that requires one hell of a precise shot and generally requires more then one. This gets the job dont in a point and click fashion.

How much recoil does this look to have compared to a current 'nade lobber? We've seen this thing's effectiveness against static targets in large, open windows from a good position free of enemy fire and given time to get into a position that absorbs the most recoil, but in a combat situation would it be any better?

Interesting. They need to make it heavier. Weight cuts down on recoil (So my father says). Other than that, I believe the army still uses M32 grenade launcher. This looks easier to load and more precise then just a lobbing weapon.
